For me it's very important when shipping Miketosis to not sideline VanMike and Vanessa in general. Mike and Vanessa have a complex relationship too, they've been through so much together and yet Mike still doesn't know much about her, not her traumas, the real her, maybe that's why their date didn't sit right with me, it's not that I think they can't share attraction for each other because there truly is potential, it's just... Vanessa, sweet messed up Vanessa, wanting to actually be normal but nothing ever let's her be normal, her brother isn't normal, why would Mike choose someone so not normal over her, when that's the life Mike wants, isn't it? To fix her, to make her normal too, she's actually trying to be normal, Michael isn't.
#not to bring fluff to the angst function#but I also think their possible sibling-in-law relationship is HORRIFICALLY underutilized#mike should still care about and want the best for her.#bonus if him realizing his feelings for michael include him realizing Vanessa deserves better than him#that vanessa deserves normalcy and stability#and maybe hes more fucked up than either of them realized
