But still always the contrarion I actually found Simone a lot more relatable. The shit both those girls went through in their childhood, Christ. I felt like shaking Devon at some points and screaming "IT IS NOT UP TO YOU WHETHER SIMONE FORGIVES YOUR FATHER". Like I am a firm believer as somone who has toxic family members, other people cannot make those decisions. If anything Devon should know that more than random people who don't know Simones past. Their father having alzhemiers does not equal Simone needing to be responsible for him. I think the monetary support wasn't even deserved if she didn't want to. You just cannot make those decisions for other people, which I think the series showed at the end when Devon finally let Simone go, the show may be showing that as a negative but tbh I think both girls needed some time apart after that whole shebacle.

And Simone God love her, you can disagree with her choices but if you say you can't understand them then you have had a priveledged life. Girls been running her whole life and when she thinks shes reached a safe harbor it all gets ripped away. I don't even blame her for running straight to Peter, cause she looked at her options and didn't have many left to choose from. Simone may still be running but she'll be running in expensive ass gymwear at the least.

And poor Michaela, who we realise in the biggest twist of the show is in fact just a normal woman. All the women are. They are not Sirens, or monsters or tragic heroines to be saved and pitied they are just women. But the men will never see them that way because it seems to them women will always fall into two categories, the Madonna or the Whore or rather those you can blame or those you can save. You can start as either but you will end up both at some point. To men anyways it seems. I loved Juilianne Moore in this role, so surreal and ethereal truly living up to the title of the show. All the women did but Moore's whole voice and vibe was just "mwah" chefs kiss.

Basically I really reccomend this show. The music and setting are also so haunting and sad in some parts, usually at night, it was very contrasting to the bright preppy daytime scenes and really worked for me. I think people who went in expecting another murder mystery or cult thing might be dissapointed but I thought the show subverting that whole idea was fantastic. No one is killed or dies. No one is a cult leader. And no one is an actual monster or Siren. It's just a show about women. And I loved that.
