Celine (as a still conscious part of Dark) is jealous of Yan and her freedom to live as a girl and woman in the modern world, Yan has choices Celine never had but despite her anger she never takes it out on the girl, she's not cruel towards her just immensely envious

She pities herself in a way, upset that she had no other choice but marriage and lives somewhat vicariously through Yan making Dark and Yan much closer than they are with any of the other minor Egos

When she's active Celine prompts Yan to talk about her senpai and images herself in Yans place, a school girl with a crush and no further expectations

But there is also a trans allegory in here with Celine being stuck in the body of a man and Yan being a trans girl

Celine is no longer a woman, be it because she doesn't want to change the body they inhabit, can't, or just doesn't think of it, she doesn't get to experience that freedom as a woman

Sure she technically has the freedom as a man but it's different, it's so very different

Yan is trans and is allowed to exist in that way freely, no one questions her femininity despite her inherently masculine body, that wasn't something you could just do openly in Celines time or at least not that she saw

made a matching drawing to my Iron Lung fanart, because to me, they are two sides of the same coin (same side of the coin, imo) they go hand in hand 🤝 also the little kibty is named Felicette! she was the first cat to go to space and come back safely 🥹 she is often forgotten in the history of space travels, and for what she had to go through, i wanted to have her here as well because she deserves it 🧎
