i think this has become a more popular opinion recently but i kind of hate that lesbian media always has to be cutesy with brief touches and glances and basically toned down. don’t get me wrong, i love the yearning and the tension in media like this, but i also think we’re allowed to want to see more. like why can’t it be sexual and why can’t these characters be direct with each other. i know the male gaze is part of what’s holding lesbian media back (blue is the warmest color has done irreparable damage). if it were my ideal world, we’d have more queer women and nonbinary people getting opportunities to make accurate lesbian film and tv representation that isn’t highly sexualized or full of stereotypes for male enjoyment. i know there’s so much potential out there but these studios just don’t give it to them cause homophobia (but especially lesbophobia) is rampant in the film industry. (also i know there is a popular gl community but i think there could always be more lesbian representation in media everywhere). i’m biased but i genuinely do think that franchaela is gonna change the way people view lesbian media positively in the mainstream. they’re going to be soft with each other but we’re also gonna see them have sex and i don’t think they’re going to hold back.. cause this is bridgerton. anyway all this to say, i want more lesbian media that isn’t doomed and actually lets them be fully intimate with each other. and i’m excited for franchaela and i expect all lesbians to watch it when it’s out next year 🫵

It is not nearly common enough knowledge that most Native tribes in the U.S. don't actually own all of the land within their reservation. There are millions of acres of reservation land that tribes don't legally own and they have no control over how that land is used. Like, there are a lot of different concepts tied in with the land back movement, but a major one is literally just getting reservation land back into tribal ownership.
