         she’s heard about finn around the base ;; people talk, even to her. she’s been there for long enough there’s no unease around her but not long enough for anyone to STOP seeing her as the things her family’s done. it’s what makes her pause for a long time when she considers talking to the former storm trooper but she’s still her – she’s still too curious for her own good && still refuses to let something so simple as nerves stop her from talking to someone. “hey, finn — food here  s u c k s, right?? i nearly begged the general to let me go get something decent.”

weeks, she was told she had been in a coma for weeks. rey was gone; looking for skywalker. the only comforting face she’d seen since she woke up was poe’s and even then, he’d only stopped by every so often. she’d been left to her own devices after medical cleared her and the general insisted after the hits she took from the fight, she needed to take time to recover before getting into training. she wasn’t used to “recovery” time. training she knew. training she was comfortable with. but wandering the base, staying in her room, doing nothing, it made her restless. 

she was also one of the most talked about people on base and one of the most avoided. people averted eye contact in the halls and refused to sit near her at meals. she guessed being a first order defector wasn’t the kind of things people looked for in friends. which was why the sudden voice directed at her startled her out of her daze.
