Bear's Secret Lair

Hello everyone! So a great deal of people I know identify themselves as cosmic witches, but forget about the subsections within cosmic witchery… You can work with each planet individually or choose certain planets to specify with and tailor your craft to your liking! In the hopes of helping some fellow celestial souls find their place within cosmic witchery, I have created a list of many different witch types paired with corresponding planets. Remember, you never have to pick just one planet to work with! Feel free to work with as many or as few as you like.

Keep in mind that you can always tie other witchcraft subsections in with constellations as well! For example, draconian witchcraft can channel Draco. I pulled some of my witch type inspiration from the wonderful @rainy-day-witchcraft​ masterpost you can find here!

- You are still a witch, their opinion won’t suddenly kick you out of the club

I was inspired to make this today and thought I’d share since I haven’t seen it on Tumblr. It’s a super simple salt variation with Lavender, I’m sure it’s been done before so I’m not claiming originality here.

I just ground lavender and salt together in my mortar and pestle, using equal amounts of each appropriate for the jar size. I didn’t want lavender left overs in my final product so I used a loose leave tea strainer to sift through the salt/lavender mixture to draw out just the salt. Once the salt is separated you have a salt that smells like lavender with a tint of purple.

A spell for when you are losing hope and you want things to get better.

What you need

Something to play music on This song (x) A white candle This sigil (x) Two pieces of paper A pen

What to do

Start playing the song and make sure to put it on repeat. 

Sit somewhere where the sun can touch your face, preferably outside

Stretch out your arms as if you were trying to touch the sun. Take some deep breaths, imagining yourself breathing in the suns energy.

Carve the sigil in your candle, lighting it when you’ve completed it.

On the first piece of paper write down what is no longer serving you and what habits you want to get rid of. 

Carefully burn it in the flame of the candle, taking a deep breath. As you exhale imagine all that energy that is on the piece of paper leaving your body and being burnt in the candle along with the paper.

Next write down what you want to enter your life in place of these things that are no longer serving you. 

Fold the paper and drip some of the wax onto it. Carve the same sigil that was on the candle in the wax. 

Keep the piece of paper somewhere where you will not lose it. 

🌙 She will listen when no one else does

🌙 Your dreams are just as real as what your waking eyes perceive as reality. A different type of realism, but real nevertheless

🌙 When the sun goes down, beautiful things still exist. They’re just harder to notice within the darkness

🌙 Illusions and lies are only temporary covers for what lies underneath

🌙 If you watch over others, the moon will make sure to always watch over you

🌙 The illuminated path is not always the correct one. Sometimes you have to uncover it yourself

🌙 If you ask her a question, she’ll often tell you that you already know the answer. You’ll find that she is right.

🌙 If she offers her advice, it would do you well to take it

🌙 Like her own, your power can be soft and loving. That doesn’t make it any less powerful

🌙 Trust your intuition. It is the Lunar Mother’s guidance.

🌙 We all have a “dark” side. It is not to be feared, it is simply full of hidden truths

🌙 Your “dark” side does not make your light side any less bright

🌙 As she ages, she keeps her soul rejuvenated and young. She can help you do the same

these crystals should never be used for elixirs or any substances meant to be ingested. they are safe to use externally as jewelry or other items. this list is not exhaustive.

A metal tea strainer just like the one above.

Put just a pinch of herbs inside. Hold the mesh over a candle for several moments. You will be able to see the herbs begin to burn. If you just need a little smoke, they will smoke immediately and go out quickly when removed from the flame.

If you need a lot of smoke, let the herbs turn in to embers (they will not really catch fire). In this form you can carry the tea strainer all around a room to smoke it out, or place it on a fire-safe surface such as a baking dish or pan so it can smolder safely.

Really only use a small amount of dried herbs!
