we have all seen how israel responded to the icj verdict earlier this month. they have all but intensified their attacks on palestinians, their favorite of whom seem to be children. this will end in a bloodbath. palestinians, already malnourished and living in literal tents, will be bombarded, they will be shot, they will be slaughtered. and when i say palestinians, a lot of them are actual toddlers. the videos coming out of this are proof enough.

at this point, it has been made amply clear that palestinians will never experience safety in their own homeland. a lot of the families in gaza are trying to raise funds to get out of it, because there's nowhere left to go.

there is nowhere left to go. if these people don't get the funds necessary to escape, they will die.

what if, after Rocky and Grace arrived at Erid:

1. Rocky was deemed "too emotionally-compromised" and "not sufficiently representative of all of Erid, by himself" to act as Grace's primary liaison -- Eridian health experts essentially separate Rocky and Grace "for both of their long-term mental health" (but mainly Rocky's);

2. In order to maximize Grace's chances of survival, the Eridians decided it was necessary to put Grace back in a coma temporarily;

3. For one reason or another, it's Adrian who's interacting with Grace to put him under (maybe the Eridian higher-ups asked Adrian because Rocky wouldn't be allowed to do it, and Adrian agreed to do it because they thought since Rocky wouldn't be allowed to, Rocky would want someone with a personal connection to Grace to handle it. Or maybe Adrian even volunteered for that reason).

4. The Eridians think that the translator program Grace and Rocky used is sufficient for communicating with Grace for any purpose. They don't realize that as Grace and Rocky became more familiar with each other's languages, they just stopped using and updating the translator altogether.

5. One of the last topics that Grace and Rocky had discussed with the translator active was discussing the situation with Yao and Ilyukhina, and with the Blip-A crew. Both of them had gotten very upset during the conversation, and they were already considering ceasing to use the translator in order to gain deeper comprehension of each other's languages. Because of this, they weren't as careful about making accurate entries into the translator's vocabulary as they otherwise might have been.

6. So, given the context and the circumstances, the translator's Eridian-to-English translations for a description of being put into a coma are... upsettingly incorrect.
