I know it's been a while since I've posted a book status update. But I have been hard at work and have recently reached a few milestones.

Here is where we currently stand on this project:

Book 1: Complete at 107,217 words

Book 2: In Developmental Edits at 73,757 words

Book 3: In Progress at 47,944 words

I just finished reviewing my latest draft of book 3 and outlining all the basic plot points. My next steps with book 3 are to finalize its outline before diving into the next draft.

My next steps overall are to find myself some solid critique partners and editors to get book 1 cleaned up nicely before starting on Querying Round 2! 🎉

I'm outlining all my book marketing plans (and I mean all of them) and realizing once again just how much goes into not only the creation of a book but the marketing of it too.

Not only is there a million potential marketing plans to think about, but there's also the creation of a cozy home for the readership I hope to gather around this story I've been keeping to myself for almost a decade now. I hope the vibes are comfy and warm and I hope this home is eventually a real nice place to hang.

There's just so much to do and so many decisions to make outside of the book writing itself. Maybe once I have a full outline, I can share it for anyone else trying to outline an exhaustive book marketing to-do list of their own.

Writer’s block afflicts us all at some point or another. It can feel like your mind is just blank or like your internal writing engine just won’t get going. In some ways, I like to think of writing as a sport. Writing warm ups help you stretch your mind and get your brain into the right mindset for writing. It also literally helps you physically warm up your hands for typing or scribbling away.

Figuring out how to end your can sometimes be a struggle. The brainstorming of a story isn’t always linear.

For those who may not know, I'm currently writing a fantasy trilogy about the four witches of the apocalypse who are destined to bring about the end of the world, and one young huntress's journey to stop them.

Right now I am currently working on writing The Wolf Witch, book 2 of the Dragon Witch series. This week I am specifically working on chapters 11 to 15.

I have a schedule outlined where if I write 2 chapters a week, then I should be done writing book 2 by this December. But I've already fallen a bit behind as I've needed time to brainstorm through some plot things.

Sometimes I feel like half of writing is brainstorming through roadblocks where you can't quite see the road ahead. Anyway, here's the current status of the series to help keep me accountable and offer an update to any interested readers:
