It’s been SO long since I’ve done a #fridayintroductions post, and I’ve gained a good number of followers here so, allow me to introduce myself and my brand to you… 🦋 My name is Mishy! Many know me as “The Butterfly Poet,” a name given to me after @diva_babycakes said in my initial days of motivational speaking that I was like a butterfly; I then later began releasing some of my poetry so the “Butterfly Poet” was born! 🦋 While my brand “Mishy Writes” is based off the motto “words inspired by my life to encourage you through yours,” it encompasses ALL things encouraging and motivating, whether it be poetry, motivational speaking, modeling, or editing. Hello, there. My name is Jennifer, and I’m currently away for the weekend with my wonderful husband. Only, we haven’t really seen much of each other. He’s downstairs in a medical conference, and I’m up in our room (swipe for the view from my window) attempting a #fridayintroductions post for all the lovely new people who followed this account after @m.is.for.mama tagged me recently. (Thanks, Abbie!) For those who don’t already know me, here are a few fun facts: 1. I met my husband in college the day after his 19th birthday and two days after my 21st. We’ve been virtually inseparable ever since. 2. We have 12 children (ages 11-33), all single births, which means I spent the first 25 years of our marriage either pregnant or nursing (or both). 3. Contrary to some folks’ assumptions, we are NOT Mormon or Catholic — just passionate Baptists. And, yes, we DO “know what causes that” ( and enjoy it with unfailing regularity). 😉 4. This is only our second time in 34 years to be alone in a hotel with no kids. The silence is almost deafening. We hardly know how to act without someone loudly playing the piano right outside our bedroom or knocking on the locked door to ask if we’re busy. 🙄 5. Doug and I also have 13 grandkids (ages 1-13), several of whom will be tagging along with us on our next trip. So we’d better enjoy the peace and privacy while we can. That’s enough about me. Hi there! I missed out on #fridayintroductions again this week, but seeing as how today is #igquiltfestday1 as well as #marchmeetthemaker, it seemed like the perfect day to pop into your feed and say hi (HI!)! I'm Jen Frost from Faith and Fabric, a Christian quilt pattern and fabric design business. I love sharing the beauty of our faith by creating gorgeous quilts, like that plush stack I'm leaning on. The attraction of Christian quilts is that they are both functional and faith-fuelling; as you walk past a Pentecost banner on your wall or cuddle under the warmth of an Easter cross quilt, you have - even for a moment - a reconnection with our Creator and an appreciation for the beauty that art can bring. @bishopbarron is often quoted as saying "lead with the beautiful", and it's this beauty - and goodness - that I try to bring to each design. #CSLENTIPJ Included in this post are a few examples of work in this post, but we'll be looking more at them throughout the month as #IGquiltfest continues. When I'm not in my sewing room (which doubles as our homeschool room, so we're in here *a lot*), I'm often found in our garage gym - while quilting is my favorite past time, working out is a huge outlet for me. I started running track in high school (though admittedly never took it as seriously as I should have), got involved in triathlons in college, and joined the tri team here in San Diego after moving down here where I raced for many years. Once I got the competition bug out of my system, I fell in love with the classes from both @lesmills and @barretherapy, and (due to C0vid) now take both out in the garage. ☕️ Good morning and merry 10th day of Christmas! I'm a bit late for #fridayintroductions but - since we're all still on vacation - figure that's a-ok. If you're new here, welcome! I'm Jen Frost, the quilter behind Faith and Fabric. If you've been here a while, thank you for being part of this sewing community. Since it's the new year, I thought I'd pop on and share some of my goals for 2021 as it relates to my small business (because, honestly, my personal goals are way less exciting - things like "remember to wear sun screen every day" and "make the bed each morning" 🛏 ). First up is to create a #freemotionfriday video each week as we learn to practice our #freemotionquilting skills together! Did you catch this past week's video? There's a link to it on YouTube in my profile if you didn't. I just finished recording this Friday's video, and there are definitely a few lessons learned in this one! I'm excited to think how far we will all come if we practice each Friday together; that's 52 different opportunities this year to try out a new free motion design. Another goal I have is to release each of the blocks in the #jessetreequilt as stand-alone blocks that come at an 8", 10", and 12" size (all in one pattern). This has been requested by many of you, and I'm excited to say that there are 10 blocks already released in the shop! My third goal for this year is to create a few custom patterns based on my growing fabric line...yep, you read that right! Not just fabrics, but actual lines that are meant to work together in a single quilt (or sewing project). I'm hoping to have the first line and quilt project ready for rollout in March to share with you. So how about you? Hi friends! I feel like it’s always good to reintroduce myself before @Dressember gets going, so here we go. ☺️ My name is Elise, I’ve lived in six different states and currently call Pennsylvania home. I work at a dental office and thanks to covid, my hubby and I spend most of our free time at home drinking coffee, watching The Mandalorian, playing games, or cuddling with our cat. This is my seventh year participating in Dressember and my second year of hosting #CreateForDressember (though if you remember #LetterForDressember, technically it’s the fourth year of the challenge). I love creativity, and using it to fight human trafficking is such an amazing and special way to get involved in a world-changing cause. “Skadkolwiek wieje wiatr zawsze ma zapach Tatr.” Jan Sztaudynger I am a wanderers. I love getting lost on purpose…hit the mountain trails just to find my own soul…my adventure. This brings me back to a close to my heart memory…my last year of high school…when I lived in Poland…we went to visit Tatrzanski Park Narodowy on one of our being there experiences…and little did I know…that those memories will last a LIFETIME….located in the heart of polish mountains so close to my heart…we hiked to Lake Morskie Oko…if you love nature..it’s a must alpine hike..only 2-3 hours…but the alpine view are always mesmerizing….gah… So…now when I look back at all those memories…little steps I have taken….EVERY SINGLE TIME I go back up at 12000 feet ..and IT FEELS LIKE HOME….it brings me back thousands miles away….for just a split second… So many new faces around here...so today I just want to say hello☺️ #behindthelens #justynaebutlerphotography for #fridayintroductions 🥾🥾🏔📷 the space.
