Great Walk Australia! Spent the last three beautiful and rainy days tramping through the glass house mountains with my lovely travel compatriot. We enjoyed some beans and veggies at the Blaxland Falls for lunch and were Amazed by the lush rainforest surrounding us. We only saw one snake, thankfully, a black snake which practically flew off the path as we approached. The trees here are Insane!!! Definitely trees for fairies. We were hoping to make it to Gheerulla Falls to camp the first night but due to a late start we ended up bunking down at the top of Ubajee Viewpoint. In the night a crazy storm came raging across the mountain! Hello hammock tent! Thanks for being so awesome and keeping me dry! Seriously Hennessy hammocks are the way to go. And in my new Kathmandu Pathfinder sleeping bag I was finally warm and snug. My sleeping bag smells like a duck. Just saying. More rain the following day as we lounged in our tents by Gheerulla Falls and showered in the water... Not clean enough to swim, leeches are a thing. I realized yesterday as we hiked out, still in the rain, that If I am " afraid" of anything it is cold and blood suckers like leeches, ticks, vampires. I just don't understand! These things make me so upset! Like, dude that's my blood. The path leaves the lush bush and joins a firebreak, multi use track network, winding through massive Eucalyptus trees and I feel like a tiny spec. We hitched a ride from the Delicia Conservation road into Mapleton in a two seat Ute with a funny, friendly fella named Dean. He has a plaster on his cheek and told us how his neighbors dog and he were becoming great friends. It's amazing how good that almond milk latte tastes at the end of a wilderness stint. Hello civilization!

Lunch from yesterday :) 1 can kidney beans 1 can chick peas 1 can red lentils 1T. Olive oil Salt to taste Food process the lumps out and enjoy with dippables :) YUM

It's been too long since I've blogged, apologies if anyone is reading this. Since my last Brisbane logs I took a job on a permaculture farm, turned into a vegan and did some exploring of the Sunshine Coast! Life is good and I'm feeling absolutely fantastic since the switch to a plant based diet :)
