Manon swung her arms back and forth with Annaβs as they walked hand-in-hand to the candy store. You were a few shops over buying a new pair of shoes. Anna had started fussing when sheβd spotted the store in the mall, so Manon decided to take her ahead while you finished up the transaction.
βI want this one- and this one- and this one- so much candy!β Anna shrieked happily. Manon watched as she ran from section to section across the store, making sure she was close enough to protect her. She put her hands on Annaβs shoulders to hold her in place when she heard someone address her.
βWow, youβre so good with her,β the woman commented. Manon gave her a tight lipped smile in return. Her eyes quickly dropped down to grab another bag for Anna as she began dragging her away.
