Most look at my protest picture and they see the fro, the power, the glamorous shit. But they don’t remember THIS! This is what my face looked like after the gas bomb ricocheted off the floor after the police shot and killed Jrock at the Keith Scott protest. This is what I had to go to work with the next morning. Not to mention the slew of death threats from people telling me to get my fat “gorilla back” off the floor, or “she needs a job” or “run her over” or better yet “just shot her” This is what it means to be black and stand up for your rights. I’ve lost my white side of the family including my own mother because they don’t understand.
