mickey james is the son of a hockey legend and jaysen caulfield is the one person standing in his way to be the top draft for the nhl. they're college freshmen, they're on the same hockey team, and they hate each other. you know how the rest goes.
sometimes a book just hits you. you read it at the right time and it just hits you like a semitruck going 80 mph. and this was one of those books for me. i picked it up at 2 am and then i didn't put it down until 5 when i finished it. and it's important to tell you that i spent a huge majority of those three hours sobbing my eyes out
i feel like it's important to note while this book is emotional at times, i was probably crying more than necessary. but mickey's struggles with mental health felt so real and true to me that, again, it felt like i got hit by a truck.
the one place this book loses points for me is the ending, since i love the characters and their dynamics and the writing. while i definitely understand what the author's purpose was with the ending, i couldn't help but want something more from it. but the rest of the book affected me so much that i have to round it up to a 5 for rating systems
warning: this book deals in depth with anxiety, depression, and alcoholism/dependency

bri has a green thumb. maybe too literally. even dead plants flourish under her fingertips, with an immunity to poisonous plants, an inhereted estate in a small town, and strange happenings, bri tries to figure out exactly how she fits into the picture.
this book was breathtaking. while it's a little too slow for me in the first half, the second half is a ride that i didn't want to get off of. i had no idea where this book was going and it kept me on the edge of my seat guessing. i cannot wait for the sequel because my head is spinning and i immediately need more

this was honestly a disappointment to me. i'm not entirely sure how Official (TM) translations of korean webnovels usually go, and how strict a translation this was, but so many parts felt like the same line was being repeated over and over again, telling us information that had both been thought and said aloud and then again. this is only my second korean webnovel, so maybe that's just part of the style that i'm used to, but it made the book feel stagnant and repetitive.
the main character felt very stagnant as well. i didn't really care about him in a way that i SHOULD for an mc. i absolutely understand that this is volume 1, but it didn't really feel as if he had much growth or arc, and there's only maybe one character i'm interested in hearing more from. i don't think i'll be continuing with this story unfortunately

this was a hard one. both to review and to get through. while there were definitely parts of this book i enjoyed and a lot of singular lines i liked, i had a hard time liking it as a whole. for some reason, i had a difficult time adjusting to the magic system and world, even at the end, i felt like i didn't entirely understand some aspects of it.
and while i deeply appreciated the casual lgbtqa+ rep, there actually weren't a ton of characters that i genuinely enjoyed and wanted to see more screentime for. i felt wishy-washy about lorena pretty much the entire time, and didn't feel too invested in any of her relationships, romantic or platonic. there are maybe one or two other characters i would've maybe preferred to hear the story from instead (or their stories) but mostly i'm left feeling unsatisfied. especially with the ending, and while i can appreciate what the book is trying to say about the rich, it says it so explicitly and so many times that the book often felt like it was going in circles and like i was getting bashed in the head with it
i can appreciate a lot of aspects of this book, but i don't really enjoy it. this one was a miss for me

ryu is a closeted trans boy just trying to make it through the day when a new kid joins his class: jin. jin is outspoken, loud, and unabashedly different and himselfāand seems like a total bully. when the two run into each other when shopping for the same style of clothes, ryu realizes there may be a way to express himself after all.Ā

i reallyĀ enjoyed reading this manga! i was immediately excited to see a trans protagonist, and one that was starting his own fashion line! the concept alone was just really exciting to me. i also appreciated how painful being closeted can be, and how angry it can sometimes make you feel.Ā
i am really loving the development of ryu and jinās friendship. i think itās especially fun when their roles get swapped and jin has to hold back ryu. i really would love to read the second volume as soon as i can. reading this gave me a warm sense of comfort, because sometimes you really do just need some friends to support you. and also start a small business.Ā

cassandra has extreme anxiety, ocd, and visions of death. she thinks that last bit is just a symptom when she finds out sheās a scryer with the power to see the future. and maybe, just maybe, she can change the deadly future sheās seen.Ā
i wish i had liked this book just a little bit more than i had. i love the concept, and the portrayal of mental illness and ocd was both realistic and relevant to the story that was very well done. as a mythology and history buff, i loved all the references throughout the story.Ā
the dialogue was...rough. it was probably the bookās weakest part for me. while i still enjoyed it, some of the conversations between collin and cass just felt incredibly inaccurate to how teenagers talk, and some of the slang made me cringe. i know teenager speak is notoriously hard to write, but o u c h some of this stuff was outdated in 2012. by the time i was halfway through, i was just used to it as an aspect of the book and it wasnāt asĀ noticable, but i still wish the dialogue was a little smoother and realistic
and pacing wise, i think there could have been some improvement. as the first in a series with relatively intensive worldbuilding, there was a lot of exposition. at times that really slowed down the plot, and other times it wasnāt even exposition making things slow. other times, things went so fast that i had to go back and reread because i wasnāt sure where people ended up.Ā
however, i did really like the characters (although iām not sure i really bought into the romances) and their friendships. iāll definitely be reading the upcoming books to see where this series goes, because i think it has a lot of potential!

this graphic novel was absolutely STUNNING! the art was absolutely brilliant to look at, and i wish i had a copy to just hold in my hands and flip through. there were so many pages and spreads where i spent a long time looking at all the beautifully rendered details in each page. the story is fast-paced and pretty tight, with sparse dialogue. i think that while there was a good deal of character development even with the little dialogue there was. i do wish there was a little more foreshadowing and that the antagonists were a little more well-defined, but i also know that means the story would have to be expanded to be much longer than it currently is. in its current formāvery sparse in text and art heavyāi think this is a very beautiful book!

local star is an interesting and quick sci fi novella that is begging to be made into a longer bookā or even a series.
i wanted to like this book so much more than i actually did. i really struggled at the beginning to understand what was going on with all the terminology, and even was unclear with some of the words at the end of the story. (i didn't realize there was a glossary until i reached it). while i do appreciate being thrown into the story, it felt like i was a little TOO thrown in, and i struggled to follow what was being said since so much was mechanical. meaning that it wasn't really important to the story, just triz's job.
i also wanted so much more background on the characters and cultures of this universe. while i ended up with an idea of what was going on by the end, i wanted a more in-depth exploration, because i think it really is incredibly interesting. i wanted to see more of what made this world work and actually SEE more of the relationships between the characters. i'm not sure if i ever entirely bought the relationships, although i very much wanted to.
also as a tiny note, i was disappointed that (if my memory is correct), all the explicitly trans and nonbinary characters were so minor. the fact that we never see nantha onscreen was such a disappointmentāit felt like she really should have been an important character as well. i also wish that there had been MORE of the polyamorous aspect in this book, since romance really was on the backburner of this novella in my opinion.
really, i just wanted this story to be longer and take its time to develop the world, the characters, and the relationships. i think there's something really good here, but it ended up being rushed and slightly hard for me to understand with one read. i ended up rounding up to 3 stars because it stuck with me, and i kept thinking about the characters afterward, because i really wanted to know more.

this was a really interesting look into the lives of three incredibly influential writers, whose lives have always been somewhat of a mystery to me despite having read their work in school. unfortunately, it felt a bit rushed to me, and i even struggled to keep the sisters straight, having to take a screenshot of a page where their names were listed so i could keep track of who was who. additionally, while i really like the inked look of the art, sometimes it felt a little bit too messy and unrefined. it felt like this graphic novel needed a lot more room to breathe because i saw hints of really interesting and complex stories and personalities in it that were never fully realized. i think with some more pages, the book would have been a lot more powerful too in regards to the sisters being women writers during a time when it was highly frowned upon for women to write. i still enjoyed it, but i feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities in this read, which is really disappointing.

i had a hard time with this story. i wanted to get into it, especially because i really enjoyed the use of colors throughout the story. it felt too rushed and not deeply developed enough, with too many characters that i don't truly understand their backstories or motivations. maybe the scifi was too thick for me, i don't read a ton of it, but i had to read the explanations of what happened several times, and i still don't think i entirely understood it. i had a hard time getting really invested, and didn't find myself reaching for this to keep reading. it felt a little bit more of a chore to read than i wanted it to be. while for the most part i enjoyed the art, other times it was difficult to distinguish what the characters' expressions were. i think that this could've been a really great story, but it just needed a lot more room to breathe.

1.5/5 stars
Jorge Fuerte is about to start high school when his father comes out as a trans woman, flipping Jorgeās life upside down. Now, on top of normal high school things like bullying, a crush, and friend problems, Jorge also has to deal with his parentsā divorce, accepting his dad, and the rift this has caused between him and his twin brother, Caesar.Ā
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although Norma is a trans woman who uses she/her pronouns, she asks Jorge and Caesar to continue calling her ādad.ā Additionally, while I am not a trans woman, I am a nonbinary person of color. I can relate to Norma on certain levels, but want to acknowledge that I do not have her experience and ask that you read reviews by other trans women, particularly trans women of color, for more detailed opinions that trump my own.Ā
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Mentions of transphobia, deadnaming, misgendering, and racism.Ā
I had a very hard time writing this review, because ultimately, this is a book that attempts to deal with many many MANY issues, but ends up resolving almost none of them. It left me feeling as though the story wasnāt completely finished, or the author didnāt know how to resolve the situations that had been created. Because of this, I really didnāt know what to say. Or I went back and forth between having too much to say, and risk spoiling the entire book.Ā
Reading this was difficult. And eventually, I came to this conclusion: this book is a book about a trans woman, written by a cis people, from a cis characterās point of view, for a cis audience. Itās so binary. And there is a genderfluid character butā¦most of this book sticks so strictly to a gender binary. Even the comic plotline, where thereās a ātrans superheroā (I am REALLY tentative about calling the character trans) is so binary.Ā
The idea that being a woman makes you more open to emotions and willing to work out issues through talking than physical conflict⦠And that changing depending on what gender the superhero is? It made me personally really uncomfortable, as well kind of sexist. These traits have nothing to do with gender and everything to do with socialization and the society we live in, as well as our own personalities.
And while I believe there is a place for stories like this, about cis kids understanding their trans parents, I do not think this is this book. The amount of misgendering Norma goes through in this book made me feel physically ill at times. Even Jorge, who accepted Norma much faster than other characters, misgendered her for such a huge majority of the book. It took him so long to use the correct pronouns. And other characters went the entire book without gendering her properly.Ā
So much of this book presents Normaās coming out as something she ādidā to her family. The characters ask how Norma could do this to them. It talks about how difficult it is for them to get through. But at the same time, it never really explores how hard this is for Norma. How being rejected by her family feels (which is in part very confusing and I wonāt get into this review due to spoilers but the whole thing with Jorgeās mother is really confusing to me), the violence she faces as a trans woman of color. AND WE SEE THIS! We SEE Norma face transphobia head on!! Jorge sees it! And itās only brought up like two times and is never really explored beyond that!Ā
Also frustrating was the fact that there is a gay uncle who is just there randomly to be gay and have no character or arc other than āhey heās gayā and only show up/be mentioned like twice. And thereās a genderfluid kid in Jorgeās grade/class who also has no character and essentially exists to be bullied, explain what being genderfluid is, and be a very stereotypical nonbinary character. Now that isnāt to say nonbinary people like Noah donāt exist, but when you only have one nonbinary character, and they donāt have much of a character, it feels incredibly stereotypical. Neither of these two characters are CHARACTERS. They feel like they were put here so the author could be like āSee! More non cishet characters!ā opposed to fleshed-out people with like. Personalities.Ā
But stepping away from the portrayal of trans and non straight people in this book. The comic plotline felt so underdeveloped. It felt like it was constantly getting lost in the shuffle. I didnāt really care for the attempt at the love triangle, but I suppose the romance was sweet. I HATED the reason the romance fell apart which I will not get into because spoilers but it annoys me. Racism (Jorge and Caesar are half Mexican), racial profiling, and transphobic violence, specifically TOWARD WOMEN OF COLOR, one of the most vulnerable portions of our population, are touched upon but never explored really in-depth. The relationship between Jorge and Caesar felt like it needed more time and the ending⦠I get the real world isnāt perfect but for a middle grade novel especially it felt so bleak. Realistic, maybe, but not only did it feel incomplete and unsatisfying, it made me wonder what the point of going through all this really was.Ā
Look, at some point this book made me cry genuine tears. I think it was during a conversation Norma and Jorge had. It had a few moments I enjoyed. There was a chance this book could have been good. But it tried to tackle a million things both major and minor (like did we need a comic contest AND a talent show?), and ended up falling so flat. Parts of it felt slapped together haphazardly. If a cis author wants to write about trans people, thatās fine, but I do not think this was the way to go about it. I think more sensitivity readers were needed at least, because so much of this felt so insensitive and was so painful as a nonbinary person to read. And if this is meant to be a way to help cis kids who are around Jorgeās age understand trans people and the struggle of being trans, I absolutely do not think this is the way to go about it.Ā
Instead of buying this book, I suggest donating the money you wouldāve spent on it to support trans people of color instead. A few charities to look at include the Transgender Law Center, the Lavender Rights Project, the Trans Woman of Color Collective, INCITE!, and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. (Note, I have not researched these organizations in-depth, and always recommend researching charities before donating!)

ORIGINAL REVIEW ON REEDSY
Ora has always wanted to be a part of the yearly Tabas hunt, despite her mother's paranoia about the woods. She manages to convince her mother to let her go with her older brother, until her brother shoots one of the fae and everything goes sideways. Her brother is turned into a brush pig and Ora is kidnapped and brought to the fae realm, where they bind her with her name. Under the eyes of Tyg, a cruel dren with an agenda of her own, Ora must figure out how to not only return home, but also how to restore her brother.
This story is an easy and fast paced read that I couldn't put down. Ora's determination and strength as a character, as well as her devotion to her brother, were powerful, especially set against a world that saw her as nothing but a servant. The world is complexāperhaps a little too complex at times, as I never felt like everything was properly explained to meāand grabs you. The bit of politics and religion we got to see were really interesting, and I hope they'll be explored more in the future. I enjoyed a lot of the side characters, some of my favorite characters were side characters who felt like they were gone too soon, who I hope will be showing up in future books. Ora and Tyg's contrasting POVs were intriguing, especially with Tyg's ruthlessness.
At times, it seemed like there was a little too much exposition, or the plot twists were a bit too obvious, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I think the ending happened maybe a bit too fast, a little more set up for some of the events would have been appreciated and things felt like they wrapped up at lightning speed, but I still greatly enjoyed reading them.
For younger fans of fae stories, or people who just want something fae but a little lower YA, and fans of fast action and familial devotion.
to each queen, triplets are born. one impervious to poisons, one in tune with animals, and one who can control the elements. only one may be queen, and to do so, she must murder her sisters. for mirabella, katharine, and arsinoe, the fight to the death is almost here.
to quote myself as i was ranting to a friend about this: "you say DARK crowns but this was dusky at best"

ugh i've really been going back and forth on what to rate this one. (and honestly? when i typed up this review last night, i was going to give it 2.5 stars, but the more i thought about it the more annoyed i got so now we're down to 2)
so much of this....was just so frustrating? i truly feel like it started in the wrong place. i really believed we were going to start pretty close to the actual sisters trying to kill each other thing, but then this book is essentially just a lead up to that? while i do understand some set up being needed (and personally love writing it) this was just WAY too much of it, especially since i Did Not care about a lot of the characters or plot points.
i'm not sure WHAT made me so detached from all the characters, but boy did i not care about their fates. katharine especially, i have no clue who she is. i have some idea of mirabella and arsinoe's personalities, even if they're kind of flat, but katharine? after such a strong first chapter in her pov, it felt like we almost never got her pov and that which we did was not inciteful or interesting. at one point i noticed it had been over 70 pages since we had HER pov. she showed up in the background of a few scenes during those pages, but we learned so little about her. the fact that there are so many povs seems like it killed intrigue of the book, instead of making it fast paced and a tangled web of deception and dark acts.
the romance? didn't care about any of it. literally felt like there was no reason to root for any of them. there was one scene with a "love interest" that i thought rocked, but you can tell by the quotations that i really did not read him as a love interest for that sister. they didn't have the chemistry, it was just a badass scene that occurred between two friends. and there was maybe one moment where my heart rate went above resting and i was worried about a character. that sounds severe but... i thought the opening chapter was really strong and interesting and after, the story just slowly slid to its ending
i compared this book to riverdale, and not necessarily in a good way, because i do not like riverdale. (sorry riverdale fans) everything is given the same narrative weight and i know like half of the povs are teenagers, but your romantic problems are not equal to the quickening or whatever in emotional impact to me. unless you can prove to me that this romance is one that NEEDS to happen, that i need these characters to do everything in the unvierse to be together. which was not proven. i do not buy your romance. riverdale does the same re: Everything Is Treated The Same: it says a talent show and a murder investigation have the same narrative weight and i'm like no!!! they don't!!
this book (and riverdale but lets move on from that comp) sets itself up as mature and dark with serious themes, but it never felt dark despite all the ~dark~ things happening. every once and a while i'd be like 'damn...y'all are 16?' and move on. i'm not going to pretend this universe, or kingdom especially, would create the same teenagers we have but why weren't the characters just 18? that's still ya, and then maybe it would even be a higher level of ya were maybe some actual dark things could h a p p e n!!!! this didn't feel dark and mature this just felt boring!
i could pinpoint the emotional beats and i just did not feel them. i kept reading because i was interested in the world, though it was kind of unclear, and there were definitely some moments where the writing was really nice, but overall my emotional response to most of this book was nothing, until i hit the ending, swore, threw the book on the floor, and took a bath.
mostly i'm mad because the ending did pique my curiosity and i'm extremely annoyed by that fact, since this entire book felt like a waste of my time. (the ending, if you were curious, is why this was an initially a 2.5 star book) i don't know if i'll read book two, but if i do my hopes will be very low, because this book did not deliver
it all felt kind of pointless.

hazel spent her entire life confined to a 1.5 mile radius to keep a dimensional rift under control, until her 16th birthday, when the rift moves, more hazels appear, and everything hazel thought she knew changes drastically.
[click to read more, there are no spoilers in this review!]
we're starting with the things i liked because that's easiest. i did end up liking the conflict with the powers that be. i wasn't sure how deep that line would go, so i appreciated where it went and the characters' reactions to it. without going into any spoilers, i thought that aspect was really interesting and THAT was a part of the story i really liked and wished it hadn't taken so long to get to. (the resolution i'll talk about later) i liked how the hazels were so different but similar, but maybe that's because i'm in a child psych class and interspersed reading this and reading about how we develop from our environment as well as genetics. i liked the hazel dynamics! i thought they were a fun group and got attached to them very quickly. i thought how the magic weapon came about was interesting. and, hey! dragons are fun! the sexuality rep was pretty good, and there were some funny lines and moments!
but also.. there were so many frustrating moments where it was just...an exposition dump. both the reader and hazels have information hidden from them for so many pages and then it's just all revealed because ??? we're given a reason, but i personally didn't find it satisfying, and it made hazel prime passive for a huge chunk of a story where she was meant to be becoming MORE active after a life of passivity. i'm ALL for passive characters, but the way hazel's active- or passiveness was handled became frustrating. i think it just fell a little too much into the telling over showing for me. it also made the pacing feel really uneven. the first 2/3rds were really rough in that regard for me, while the ending really picked up the pace and i found to be the most enjoyable part.
also i think this was an attempt to subvert the "chosen one" trope, but it fell flat to me. while i truly did enjoy a lot of the anxiety scenes around the concept ā the clapping scene in particular i found i really liked ā it didn't really feel like ALL that new of a take on the chosen one. maybe that could've gone further? i'm not sure.
this is a tiny thing, but it really bothered me that four never got a name. i can't say colors are all THAT much better, but they at least were identifying factors (before red changed out of her dress). even alpha got a different name. but four was just...four. and four NEVER got a distinct personality in my mind. i can think of one (1) difference between her and prime, and that really bothers me. there was so much exploration of how the hazels were different and a few identity crises, so it felt like four n e e d e d to be more distinct by the end and she just! wasn't! like what did she add to the story other than being fourth? i literally couldn't tell you. i get that there's l i t e r a l l y a conversation about this about 2/3rds through the book but it doesn't matter because it still deeply bothered me
the resolution to the climax made me mad and the ending just left me...sad and empty feeling. i wasn't expecting things to end perfectly, or tragically. they honestly ended very realistically but it just didn't....hit right? it felt not impactful enough and just a touch too real for there to be anything satisfying about it. i got the point but...i don't know. it was sad, but not cathartic. if hazel prime had changed more i'm not sure if that would've been a better ending. i don't know if there IS a better ending. i'm just left feeling like...yes this is how anxiety works. this is realistic. and i struggle with it every day. maybe that's why it's upsetting, because it's just too similar to me. there isn't enough of a change, it's just some small steps. maybe i'll feel different about the ending tomorrow but right now, right out of this book, i feel upset and conflicted
i think, in the end, the struggle this book has is that it both wants to be plot driven and character driven. and it can be both ā there are plenty of stories that have adventurous plots entertwined with deep character exploration ā but i think this book missed the mark for the majority of it. it came together toward the end, but that means you have to get through the clunkier beginnings to hit the smoother parts. for at least the first half, to explore hazel, or the hazels as a collective, the action would stop dead. i think there was a way that this exploration could happen alongside the action of saving the world without the sometimes jarring switches between action and character, but unfortunately, we didn't get it
while reading this book, i spoke to friends about it, as it's kind of in my nature to liveblog things i read and watch. and at some point around halfway through, one of my good friends said "ngl i cant tell if you hate the book" and that might be a good stance to stand by.
it was interesting. it was fun to talk about. i don't know if i actually liked it, and so i've had to look at it more from a craft point of view, which i don't actually do for most books. most of my ratings are based on my emotional reaction and mine to this one was just sort of... eh. so a 2.5/5
(also random fun fact, i know they're all blonde but rainbow, but i literally couldn't stop imagining red as dahlia hawthorne from ace attorney because they paired dress with the word red. i know her dress is red. i know she changes out of it early on. i tried so hard to unsee it. i failed miserably)
a unique blend of genres and aesthetics, with surprising twists that aren't as satisfying as i would hope

this was a really weird one from me and iām not entirely sure how i feel about it
[note: i found this review on my notes from a few days after i finished reading this book. i changed a few things, but kept it almost identical to my original thoughts]
to be totally transparent, for some reason, i was under the impression that this book was part of a series, and that really may have effected how i read it. because for the majority of it, i was thinking āthis is part oneā and it is not.
on the other hand, i think this mightāve benefited from being part of a series (hypocritical since i keep looking for non series books). i have so many questions, especially regarding the world, that just did not get answered, and i thought would in the sequels that did not exist. while the combination of genres and aesthetics was fascinating ā i thought it was interesting that a sort of dystopian technologically advanced sector could exist while other areas had limited to no technology ā it didnāt entirely make sense. yes, subjects request technology from their queen, but sounds like a revolution waiting to happen in my mind
the romance also seemed super rushed, and iām not sure if thatās because i thought it was meant to be a series or not. it felt sudden and kind of weird, but that might have just been me. it felt Too Fast, all things considered.
iāll admit, some of the plot twists got me, but iām not entirely sure [and still am not sure] if thatās necessarily a good thing. the ending felt unearned and kind of weak, and frankly left me feeling disappointed
but there were good things!! i really enjoyed some of the povs! i thought the mashup of genres was unique and intriguing, even if i had questions. i liked some of the charactersā if not the main ones cause i thought they were kind of flat. the concepts of this were super interesting to me. the execution⦠letās just say i felt like it left a lot to be desired.

in a world where magical books can become monsters, elisabeth was raised in among them. she hopes to become a warden, someone who fights the monsters grimoires can become, when she gets entangled in magic and a plot of sabotage. with a closed off sorcerer and his demon, itās up to her to stop the plot and save the kingdom, but does that mean going against everything she knows?Ā
overall, i thought this book was beautiful. from the imagery to the character dynamics to the world building, i found it to be a very enjoyable, lush read. it felt pretty fresh and new, with quite a few unexpected plot twists among the expected. i kept getting tastes of beauty and the beast and wonder if that was intentionalā because it was only a little bit and thinking about that aspect too much didnāt make sense. there were some descriptions that felt a little purple prose-y, but on the whole i enjoyed it
which saddens me so much to say that i just didnāt buy into the romance. by the end i felt the spark a little bit, but it wasnāt something i was swooning for. i got so much more of just a platonic, found family vibe from it and wish that weād just stuck with that instead of the romantic bits, that frankly felt a little bit squished in there. now the family stuff, the platonic stuff, thatās what really got me in the end (and the literal end). there was such a good, healthy dosage of that, that the romance felt unbalanced, and some of the proclamations unwon. i honestly felt like the romance could have been removed and the story would have beenā¦pretty much the same? i know itās meant to be a side plot, i just didnāt believe it. iād do some of the same things for my friends, even without romantic feelings, but maybe thatās just me being a little bit too aspec
(also there was like one line about corsets that made my eyes roll iām sorry)Ā
i wonāt go into spoilers, but the end ā the last like three paragraphs ā absolutely destroyed me. and thatās why this gets that extra .5 star.Ā
i honestly just grabbed it because it was available to listen to and i had a good amount of driving to do and was out of podcasts. but the world was really interesting and the characters grabbed me and wow did i literally not expect like any of the ending to happen so. props. you have my attention
