We’ve been pretty much in the middle for awhile. Which means at some point the scale has to tip one way or the other. Things are going to get really good again-

Teen Wolf AU: Stiles is feeling on edge after the latest monster of the week attempts to kill Derek. He confronts Derek about his feelings.

“Stiles, I care about you to,” Derek breathes out, wringing his hands together.

Through force of habit, Stiles chews his thumbnail again in an attempt to calm his anxiety. Although, he doesn’t know what’s gotten his heart sky-rocketing more; the fact that Derek is confessing his feelings or the fact that everything in Beacon Hills is trying so hard to beat down Derek like he hasn’t already had a lifetime of anguish enough to hollow him out.

“I need you to survive, Derek,” Stiles admits, head hung low, “I can’t lose. Without you, I just..”  

Peter put his phone down and didn’t have to wait long before he heard footsteps approaching his door along with the smell of panic, anixety – and blood. He was at the door before there was a knock and opened it.

Stiles had JUST reached out to knock when the door was pulled open, STARTLING him enough to take a step backwards. He was on the edge, jittery and ANXIOUS and it took some effort to bite back the CUTTING comment about Peter better not making any UNPREDICTABLE movements right now, because that was the last thing he NEEDED. He didn’t want to fight, to cause Peter to slam the door in his FACE right away because while he wasn’t sure what it was what he WANTED, he knew one thing for sure: he didn’t want to figure it out ALONE. Why he had thought of Peter Hale of all people was a mystery he didn’t feel up to EXPLORING right now, not when the blood was still STICKY and wet on his hands and clothes.
