The Price of Revenge | Malia x Stefan

Stefan Salvatore, who used to be a sailor, didn’t know about what he had gotten himself into when he killed that one mermaid five years ago. He didn’t feel guilty for his kill though. Why would he? Mermaids and Humans, specifically the ones who sailed through the sea, didn’t get along or at least that’s what he had been taught as a kid by his dad.
Everyone knew that he was meant to become a captain someday, and in fact they were right. He ended up taking his father’s place, which was something that he had always dreamed of. He wasn’t a tyrant like his father though, in fact he was probably one of the most noble and kind captains that the world has come to know and he had even manage to become the icon of his hometown, which was Mystic Falls.
And now he was on another one of his adventures, trying to find a treasure that was supposed to be hidden somewhere in that caribbean island that he was in. Stefan and some of his sailors had been looking for hours, and they found nothing as a team so they all split up in little teams, except for him. He decided to go alone, insisting that it was better for the others to go in pairs of two in case anything happened to them, and really he didn’t really care about his own safety and that’s exactly why he was alone right now, walking around the beach.
He was hoping to find the treasure around there somewhere and he usually followed his instinct, until he saw a figure and he instantly knew that it was not one of his sailors. They weren’t supposed to be at the beach and they always followed his rules, that was one reason for him to know that it wasn’t anyone he knew, but not only that... The person wasn’t dressed like any of them he could see them from afar, so he started walking towards him or her. Maybe he wasn’t the only one in that island. Maybe there was another ship there as well, but as soon that he realized that it was a woman he instantly froze. Sure he was kind with people that he was familiar with, and with people that admired him as well, but not with rivals or enemies, except when it came to someone of the opposite gender. His father had taught him to be a gentleman and that’s what he promised he’d be, what he wanted to be.
“Hello?” Stefan called her as he took a few steps towards the lady. “Are you also looking for a treasure around here?” He asked, raising his eyebrows. “I’m sure that you’re not here alone. It would be most likely impossible for you to get here without a ship of your own.” He continued, licking his lips. “I’m Stefan Salvatore. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of me.” He said, offering her his hand to shake. “And who are you?”
