finishing watching rt play through the konoe arc and feeling fucked up again about how little ryuji is involved in this. what else is new

he didn't need a full arc even, a MOMENT would do. i feel aggressive and rabid towards whoever decided he would be completely normal about it but keep the jail's thematic weakness to elec. ok.

5×05 certainly adds a new layer to the Captain’s excitement about the wedding in 2×06. of course he’d desperately want a celebration of love to happen at Button House and in the very room where he died trying to reunite with his love. and when he finds out it’s two women getting married? can’t even imagine what it meant to him, to see queer love and joy being accepted and celebrated on the very spot where he had been shamed in a hostile crowd, unable to say or do too much even in the last moments of his life

So important to me that it was Julian who gave that final speech. It was Julian who started it all, and it was Julian who throughout the series has been the least moral, the least serious, the least sincere. But Allison has changed him, just as she has changed all the ghosts, and in the end it’s Julian who gives the show its final, heart-wrenching send off. It feels so dumb getting emotional over what is at the end of the day just a family sitcom but I’ve loved it so much and I massively admire all the people involved and yeah, it’s just been brilliant.

Whatever you do don’t think about how many times the Captain would have tried to furiously take off the medals… the stolen, wrongly worn medals.. just for them to reappear on his chest… a constant reminder of the shame and embarrassment he was put through just to get one final look at Havers
