I’m alive on this blog  but been a heck of a year. SO here’s the latest round up:

Batgirl Movie May Go Straight To HBO Max XXX

Thoughts? I’m totally open to it. Just as long as it’s not Barbara Wilson, I welcome Barbara to come in any form.

Also Batgirl in the Flash Movie? XXX

I’m totally down if happening. Keaton Batman is my favourite so having Babs (not Wilson) would compliment his style.

A bit cut. Harley shouldn’t be in BoP. It was founded on the partnership of Babs and Dinah. Sure I absolutely love the line up but Harley shouldn’t be there in the place of Babs. I mean it’s BoP without Babs and also Cass without her mother figure. like ok.

But with her solo I guess means we really get to know her as character. 

I feel like they should’ve gone for a Sirens movie if they wanted to fit Harley in somehow. I mean Harley on the BoP is not a natural fit, when the movie is described as a “Harley girl gang” movie when really BoP is a ops team with objectives. 

Bruh, she lives. And I trust the source. That dude has been right about so much it’s ridiculous. Him or Manabyte are pretty much good for stuff. 

Anyways, they’re specifying Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, but it’s for the solo, not BoP. So no BoP appearance (maybe) but she’s still getting her solo and they are looking for her now. 

As for the Kstew prototype stuff, it’s not how I would picture Babs in my head, however I’m not against a Kstew vibe for her. It makes me think they are gonna go serious and a bit introverted with Babs, but Kstew also has rebel quality about her. SO basically I’m thinking they’re gonna be more New 52 than Burnside for the adaptation. 

Also for BoP, they’re making Cass like 11 and going for an X-23 vibe for her.

And for your consideration, here’s Batgirl auditions. I vote for Jodie Foster.

ok so production starts in February next year. Now it’s gonna be an action movie so doing a bit of math and take into conjunction other action movie prep time, they typically put actors/actresses into training about 4 months before filming starts and can even start 6 months out from filming so if we put the 4-6 month timeframe on it, I’d say we start hearing about it around August. SO definitely expect Babs casting this year.

High chance it could happen. A staple for the superhero genre is romance itself. Babs is a definite thing and Nightwing is getting a movie down the track.  I could see them easily getting paired up.

DIckkory is most likely gonna happen in the DC streaming service Titans thing. Don’t get me wrong I’m hyped, but the costumes are...eek. Robin’s costume looks good, but the wigs man....I will definitely watch but set photos have me grasping my pearls out of horror. Like who designed those outfits and wigs.

Also, it's more likely to develop a relationship between two characters in their solo titles (and dickbabs are in each other's solicitations) than in a mini series, a "crisis" event, with a political subtext. Also, who's writing Heroes in Crisis is Tom King, the same guy writing the Batrimony, probably he had to "approve" what's happening in the preludes (or at least I hope so, since these events are converging to the wedding menace) and dickbabs is being teased in it.

I concur. I don’t think King will do a ship tease for either Dickbabs or DickKory. I think he’s been building this event for a while and it’s gonna have a massive cast so I don’t see him trying fast track the rekindling of a ship in an event. Dickbabs is getting established in their respective titles so I think we’re good on that front so I agree with you on all that

Plus if you do wonder where his heart lies these words are from Tom King himself about them:  “ KING: And with Dick and romance, you have to keep in mind, that even if she’s not on the page, she haunts every page. lacklustre. I thought the animation was good but I kind of got bored and half assed my watch of by web surfing. Can barely remember the plot.

No he’s bailed. Christina Hodson is writing Batgirl. She is also the one writing the BoP movie with Harley in it so she will have written Babs two times by the time Batgirl comes out after BoP.

A Nightwing movie is greenlit so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’ll appear. Most of the hot takes involve Babs being post killing joke and dealing with PTSD in rumor articles so expect Joker references.

there have been legit new sources reported that the only guaranteed characters in the BoP movie are Harley and Babs so I expect they’re gonna team up to take down joker.

cheers! I will take Babs getting solid content over romantic speculation any day, not to say i’m above speculating, but babs to me is a priority on how I view things. Some people will see Dick and Kory getting cosy and Babs not next to him, but I’ll see one of my favorite characters getting promoted alongside the Justice League. She hasn’t gotten a lot in the way of being featured in many events or arcs since forever so for her to be there up front, i’m hyped.

I mean sure I will go gaga over Dickbabs content if presented in any sort of manner but Babs, to me, needs to be featured in more quality content because some of that has been lacking for her lately.

Take into account what the nightwing writer said, and he basically said Babs is gonna be in the supporting cast long term, and to paraphrase, he said something he’ll approach them like how he did for green arrow and black canary, and mind you he’s the one who romantically paired GA and BC up again. He even used Barbara as an example when he was talking about romance in the nightwing title.

But yeah, I think the cover is just promo. I mean i take it as legit as in what world is Dick Grayson TALLER than Kory? She barely touched his shoulder and he towered over her. Anyways look how front and centre Babs is for the Heroes in Crisis covers with the justice league, I think she’s the one who’s actually gonna get a story in that event. Anyhow I’m not against Dick comforting Kory, I think their history is legit as Babs’ and Dick’s, but again it’s very much much a promo cover and they are kind of shoved in the back while Babs is standing right near the trinity. So more than anything I’m excited for Babs to be featured as one of DC premier’s heroes after the last few years have been kind of crap for her features.

I mean who knows cause DC is the biggest cocktease for Dickbabs and not in a fun shippy way because it’s always teasing with crappy stories which completely devalues their relationship in the first place. They think they are a will they/won’t they type deal but while they focus on that they completely ruin the foundations of their relations. 

But there is hope, I mean look at these quote from the current Nightwing writer.......

“There will be romance to come, and I’ll also say that Batgirl plays an essential role in this story. He needs someone who is tech savvy. I’ve always loved their relationship.” XX

“Percy: Batgirl is incredibly important to what we have planned. I don’t see her as a supporting role. I’m approaching her the same way I approached Green Arrow and Black Canary. Dick and Babs are partners. They need each other.” XX

And they are both in the solicits for each other’s titles coming so they are showing some importance each other’s lives again. i mean I don’t need them together but it’s just so good to see their relationship getting treatment again.

but to paraphrase from a bunch of recent interviews.... Batgirl is definitely on the slate to be filmed soon. But Nightwing is not. Yet. But Batgirl seems to definitely be the first gotham based movie coming out soon since there is nothing really to indicate Batman solo is on the fast track. Things could change however.

JK Simmons has gone on to mention he is looking forward to playing Gordon. Said something about going into his history soon. He would like to be a more action-oriented Jim Gordon. If interested JK is doing promo for JL atm the moment and his stuff is always worth checking out cause he gives interesting interviews.
