No help, No support, so No food no medicine for my parents 💔

King Thorin was sent off to war against the orcs for so many years and has to traverse through all of middle earth just to get back to Erebor where his husband and son (Bilbo and Frodo) are waiting for him. Thorin travels with his 13 dwarves but is hunted down throughout his journey by either Smaug or Thranduil as revenge for injuring his son Legolas. I can see Gandalf taking on the role of Athena, guiding Thorin and then later on Frodo.

OMG imagine the song would you fall in love with me again but with Thorin and Bilbo!!!!

Considering Dwarves and Hobbits live a lot longer and age slower than humans, imagine Thorin was actually away from home longer than 20 years and by the time he finally makes it back, him and Bilbo are now old men with fully grey hair. In the beginning of the musical, Bilbo is a lot younger and played by Martin Freeman. And in the end, he’s played by Ian Holm.

I feel like Bilbo’s dwarves suitors would be more impatient to take the throne since Bilbo isn’t even a dwarf and a lot of them are rather xenophobic and view him as simple eye candy. A tiny hobbit shouldn’t rule the throne!! He’s Holding them down! Bilbo manages to fend them off with his sharp wits and quick tongue to delay the marriage while waiting for Thorin.

I know the perfect candidate for Poseidon’s role would go to Smaug (imagine instead of singing Get in the Water, it’s Get in the Fire). BUT I feel like Thranduil could be another great spot if done right since he and Thorin’s petty rivalry is so similar to Odysseus and Poseidon. I can see Thorin and his group ambushed by elves and having to fight. Thorin ends up scarring Legolas in the face, blinding one of his eyes and when Thranduil finds out, he is PISSED. Thranduil does not mess around when it comes to his son, just like Poseidon with his kids. So he ends up killing most of Thorin’s remaining army by a barrage of arrows sent down on them while he sings Ruthlessness.

Thranduil: “That’s right……….that elf you scarred……..was mine.”

Thorin: “……………no”

OR Legolas take the role of Athena in God Games where he tries to persuade Thranduil into lending aid to Thorin’s remaining army and help him get home, much to Thranduil’s annoyance.

By the time Thorin finally comes home to Erebor and overhears what the suitors plan to do to Bilbo and Frodo, he acts a lot like his gold sick arc and just brutally murders all of them for daring to even try harming his husband and son.
