     bastet’s eye is just as wide , paused in his rummaging to focus now on the other , lips pursed downward in a deep frown . he’s skittish at best , feet shuffling , taking one , then two steps back and away from the girl , rebounding off a trashcan and up onto a nearby fire escape . ( the height and distance made him feel better - as if perhaps she couldn’t reach him this far up ) claws scrape at the railing , ears pricking and swiveling forward to fully focus attention on any movement she may make closer to him .

biography :

with the technical quirks arms race , there was no limits of jealousy between those who didn’t have quirks and those that did . we’ve all heard the story of batman , who made himself a hero through technology , we know of superman who came to earth and was born into his powers ... then of course we have mutated heroes . that’s where PROJECT : BASTET was founded . with the rise in quirks , many quirkless people began to think , wonder why they weren’t so lucky . soon enough a laboratory was founded to research this new phenomena and try to dissect it , figure out how it worked , and if they could make their own .

it started at the atomic level , scientists doing their best to see just what was different between them and their quirk-filled counterparts . next came experimentation , lab rats injected with blood from people with quirks . failure after failure came up until someone finally found a way ; and with the help from an outside source , results started pouring in . test subjects spiked from rats , to monkeys , and soon ... they believed they were ready for a human subject . 

they’d found him in an alleyway , scrounging around for scraps , quirk physically mutated fangs and nails to be sharp --- but it was nothing to sneeze at . with this , the scientists thought , they might finally have the breakthrough they’d been looking for . with their outside source they created who they codenamed : BASTET , an egyptian cat goddess , over his appearance . he’d be the first to exact justice against all those with naturally occurring quirks of their own .
