Tumblrs weird but I want to bring back a blog where I can just post photos. VSCOs is great for that, but I want somewhere to share stories or a group of photos and say something along with it. I've said don't fix what isn't broken -- it looks like Tumblr didn't do that -- but it's still better than trying to build my own (for now).

Life is beautiful.
Actually, it’s kinda funny cause as we were getting ready to leave, Vicky just kinda stood there, crouched, looking around and said that. It was her first “mini” road trip with her friends, considering the distance. And I just said, yeah it’s pretty crazy we’re on this rock floating in the middle of space, and we came from single celled organisms that, through chemistry and just biology, evolved in multi cellular organisms. And math is the universal lang... Which led to a brief discussion about how we each believe in religion, energies, or science.
I had been wanting to go see the poppies for some time now. The first time I tried going was during spring break to Lake Elsinore, but it was crowed and rainy and that wasn’t good. I wasn’t sure when I was gonna try to go back. Until my friend posted about Antelope Valley, and I said fuck it I’m going. I knew Victoria was on the way, so I invited her and she invited her friends.
I brought a roll of film that I just delivered.
These two are my favorite shots.
Someone asked me to make a Generationals playlist, I wondered what that was like, so I made one.

I want to build something, create something. Sometimes I look at my phone and think, sure I could scroll through the app store and find a game to play. But none of them ever really hold my interest. Maybe for a day or two, an aspect or two of the game will keep me entertained. So, I've thought, fuck it I'll make something. I guess one of the things that would motivate me to make something would be to make something I would want to use. I've always thought about making a game similar to idle/tapper games. My game would have progression, a game that you could actually play when you're looking at the screen but still have idle game aspects when you're not playing it. I don't know what that is because I'm not a game designer. It would need a story, some premise to play the action bits and a reason to collect resources while you're gone. And progression.
I was at an intership talk that was held by the CS club, and one of the things that stuck out to me was what one of the speakers said. I don't remember who he was but he was part of the hiring process at some company. And he said, we don't typically look at students unless there at a university level. That struck me. Not neccesarily offended, but motivated to be taken seriously.
One of the girls there at the talk, I'd known her before she graduated, was hired by another speaker from Cisco. The guy working at Cisco mentioned that one of the reasons they hired her was because she made a work out app, a working model she could show off on her phone. That's cool, but I'm also looking at her like you don't work out. Besides being an asshole, it got me thinking about the way I would use a workout app or the features I would use/need in one. And then, of couse, why don't I just build my own.
I went to have breakfast with a friend of mine and she asked me if I still wanted to transfer after this. Yes, of couse why not. Well, I could just get an associates and start working on a porfolio. But I don't want to do that. To be honest, I don't know what I want to do. My interests are too board, or I don't know who I am or what I like. I've been thinking about that recently. Health class made me aware of my sel-concept, and I've been thinking I absorb a lot from other people. The reason I like the Packers is because my best friend in middle school was from Wisconsin and I knew nothing about football. Anyway, I know I don't want to be a freelancer, mobile developer, or part of a start-up unless it's my own. I like STEM subjects: biology, chemistry, physics. Maybe as I start caring more I'll find something that captivates me.
That being said, I have been looking into mobile development. With Andriod, I know Java already and I have old Andriod phones I could test it on. And I've been looking into learning Swift just to make the games and apps that I want, and why not put them out.
I bought a domain. I don't know what to do with it. I mean I know what I'm gonna do with it, I just don't know how to do it. Connecting a domain to some DNS servers is apparently more complex task than I thought. I've always used some free webhosting that does the job for me. I know CSS and HTML and some Javascript (not really). I've messed around with PHP and MySQL trying to make my own blog. Actually that's why I use Tumblr instead now, to handle the blog post database stuff. So, that's another thing to work on. I've always thought of web devlopers as the dental hygenist of computer science.
That's how I know it's always been computer science or some sort of programming. I don't see myself doing anything else. It hasn't been let's look under this mircoscope, let's find out what these chemicals do, let's look at some stars. It's always been let's bulid something, let's make something.
putting yourself first is not always a bad thing. you don’t have to help everyone else first if it means you’ll be falling behind or hurting yourself. you have to look after yourself too.
I’m still here. I’m still working.
Everything's gonna be okay.
