Flowers For Mother | Juliet & Connor
After a few more spoken words, Juliet was quiet. Again and again she wiped away the tears but they simply kept rolling down her cheeks, they didn’t want to stop. There were still so many things she wanted to tell her mother. She wanted to tell her about school, how she thought about Irene and Connor. How he threw them pebbels at her window, climbed up the wall and came into her room through the window. How Connor took care of her while she cried, hold her in her arms and became one of her closests friend and even the boy she loved so much. The boy with a dark secret and it was terrifing Juliet and it were horrible weeks without him she missed him every second. But what was he expecting, telling her he was vampire and her reacting chill, that wasn’t an option. “I’m sure you would love him just like I do..” She said out loud to her mother before the brown haired girl heard a voice behind her.
Only now she realized how late it must be, but she couldn’t have spent the entire day staying in front of her mothers day. It couldn’t be that late yet. “Hey.” She said quietly, for the second time, and wiped away the tears on her cheeks with the sleeve of her jacket smiling a little at Connor. It made Juliet happy to see him again and that he called her beautiful made it even better, it made her heart beat faster but on the other hand he wasn’t supposed to see her like that right now. “I thought we had a date later today? —- How did you know I was here.” Juliet asked biting her lip still standing where she was not moving one inch. Sniffing, she looked at him. He hadn’t changed one bit, still the same smile, the same face, maybe his hair was a little curlier than before but that was probably just imagination.
Everything Juliet wanted literally stood right in front of her, she just had to say one word and she could wrap her arms around him and never let him go again but it was impossible because of what he was but she wanted him back. The struggle was horrible. Her brown green-ish eyes looked at the ground before she looked up again, right into his eyes, these wonderful blue eyes she could get lost in. The girl just looked at him, torn between running at him or to leave him behind, any of these were an option. Connor could probably see the many thoughts and emotions that were visible in her features, he knew her to well, even if she tried to put on a mask to hide everything he could see straight through it.
After a while of silence, Juliet spoke again. “Why don’t we just go to my place real quick so I can change and then we can go out. Are you okay with that?” She asked, starting to walk towards him and looked back at the grave of her mother where a dozen white roses were now lying. Her hands in the pockets of her coat she walked past him, keeping her head low. Oh how badly she just wanted to feel his arms around her, holding her, assuring her she was safe and loved. His smell calms her nerves, made her secure, she felt better with him around, happier.
It pained him, it did. To see her cry like this. Juliet was an enigma to him prior to their relationship. She was mysterious as she was beautiful, friendly, and she just had everything going for her. No one could touch her. And when her mom had died, she just became even more appealing. Everyone wanted to be the one to help her, to aid her in her recovery. They wanted to be her knight in shining armor and out of all the selections Juliet had - she had chosen him. Chip off the ole' block, Connor Barnes.
Maybe it was because he was persistent. Maybe it was because he just didn't give up. Whatever it was, Connor was privileged to be the one that Juliet leaned on. But that all hit the fan when he was turned. It changed everything. Because what if it was people like him that hurt her mother? The question had honestly kept him up at night especially when he knew his hunger for her blood grew with each and every day. Bringing himself out of his thoughts, "Hey." He smiled - hoping to calm Juliet. Oh, how he wanted to reach out and just touch her. But he knew that, at this moment, Juliet was still undecided, he knew that.
"Yes, we had a date. But I had this feeling, I figured that you were here. There was just something about today that just told me," said Connor. He blinked, "Besides, I know you.."
His voice trailed off. Awkwardness filling the silence before she started moving and bumbling things like changing. Was this what their relationship had been reduced to? Awkward exchanges and no true feelings to be shown? That was even worse, Connor thought to himself.
He couldn't help it, he had to touch her. His hand lingered for a second before grasping her wrist. Connor tugged at her wrist, "Come here, please." He sighed and tapped at her pulse, "Juliet, please. Let me be here for you." Connor glanced at her, his eyes full of pleading as the breeze rushed through the air and her scent flowed through his senses, "I'm still me, you know. Just a little stronger. Smarter, which is always good, right? You always said I was too ignorant for my own good."
Connor chuckled, hoping to relax her nerves, "Come on Juliet, let me be Connor."
