The Quality of Harmony - Hobbit!AU England, 1912. Thorin Oakenshield, grandson and heir of the late Lord Thror, has lost everything that once was his due to his grandfather’s mismanagement. His estate and earldom are now owned by the wealthy Lord Smaug, who bought the manor when everything started to go downhill for Thorin’s family. After many years of hard work and with the financial help of an old family friend, Mr. Grey, and the support of his nephews Fili and Kili, Thorin has managed to regain a considerable amount of wealth that allows him to nurture the hope that he could reclaim Erebor Manor, which is his by right of birth. Smaug, however, has no intention to sell the manor to Lord Oakenshield, and he is less than interested in honouring Lord Thror’s promise to the Duke of Mirkwood, made many years ago: transferring part of the property to him, should it ever be sold. Thorin, robbed of his legacy, and Thranduil, chasing after a dead man’s promise, are burning with hate for Smaug and each other. When one day, Thorin’s nephew Kili meets Thranduil’s niece Lady Tauriel during a hunt, the two of them fall head over heels in love with each other; but the feud which has been tearing their families apart for years also threatens to put their love to a test. Meanwhile, Thorin plans to retrieve what is his with the help of Mr. Baggins, a celebrity lawyer from London – but everything changes when suddenly, war is declared between Germany and the United Kingdom. Can they lay aside old feuds and truly stand united in the face of an even greater enemy?
