    of course, who else to come to his rescue than barbie. it was a relief though, he finally didn’t have to deal with this whole party scene on his own. however, she definitely seemed to be having fun, unlike him who looked like a scared puppy at this point. “ barbie! ” he exclaimed. needless to say, she looked beautiful, in her cher from clueless inspired costume. “ and you look… you know - great. ” elijah said awkwardly. 

hearing his words , her lips pulled into a shy smile - the smile that highlighted her dimpled the most & she tucked a strand of the blonde wig that she was wearing behind her ear. ❝ thanks. ❞ she replied , before taking his hand and guiding him through to the kitchen where it was a little more tame , as she could tell he was a bit uncomfortable. ❝ can i get you a drink? ❞

     elijah was the worst when it came to socializing, which meant that parties were just unfamiliar territory. even before arriving he could already hear the loud music coming from the kappa house. maybe he should’ve just stayed in his room, instead of coming, but he prepared his outfit and was already here, so he might as well enter the house. as he entered he could see the already drunk/high crowd of people having fun in front of him, so he stayed on the spot, desperately trying to observe and find a familiar face, to save him from this situation

barbie’s hands where in the air as she she swayed along to the music with the other college students , her short yellow skirt almost leaving nothing to the imagination. as she lifted the cup to her lips , she finished what was in it before leaving the crowd to top herself up. seeing the very familiar , very cute face - her lips pulled into a smile and her heart started to beat a little faster. ❝ hey elijah! ❞ she called out as she made her way over to him. ❝ dig the costume! ❞ she greeted him , obviously taking the 90′s theme seriously as she talked in the lingo aswell as dressing up. 

elijah: i mean im sure it'll be good

elijah: i haven't been to many parties but i know this one would be gret

elijah: yeah i mean... what i actually meant was... umm i can't say no to your invite yeah,

elijah: because you're my friend and yeah

barbie: its gonna be great!

barbie: don't worry , you've got me to make you feel comfortable!

barbie: oh

elijah: no no I'll come, i want to

elijah: im sure you worked so hard on this!!

elijah: and the other girls too i mean

elijah: but i can't say no to you really.

barbie: YAY!

barbie: tbh , we haven't decorated much -- what can you really do to decorate a throwback party.

elijah: well...

elijah: yeah. it was in your house so i figured i might as well stop by for an hour maybe.

barbie: oh.

barbie: okay, well - you dont have to come, like no one is forcing you.

barbie: i just wanna see you [DELETED]

chloewhits: tbh? no idea yet.  chloewhits: but i’m going to look hella cute either way!

———— 🌻         .                     𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝  𝐨𝐟  𝐚  𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞  pulls  across  flushed  features  as  the  president  stood  in  the  doorway  of  the  kitchen  ,  green  eyes  taking  in  the  sights  of  the  girl  who  she’d  all  but  adopted  .  she  was  careful  not  to  frighten  the  girl  as  she  walked  to  the  fridge  in  search  of  her  water  bottle  .     ❝          good  morning  hun  .  ❞     the  blonde  greeted  ,  a  warm  hand  carefully  catching  the  girls  wrists  as  she  all  but  twirled  .

hearing the oh so family voice of her big sister , barbie beamed an almost glowing smile across at her. once her hands were inside gigi’s , she held onto them and let her head drop back as she simultaneously sung and spun around with the blonde. taking out her earbuds , she popped them into one of her pockets and pulled gigi into a hug. ❝ how is it possible that you look more and more beautiful every time that i see you? ❞

      elijah wasn’t the most social person out of the bunch, but if there was one person he could trust and feel comfortable around it was definitely her. to be honest, there was no better way to spend his free time, but singing, especially with his favorite person to sing with. but eventually, the song had to end and he turned his head towards barbie, with his eyes meeting hers almost immediately. he could stay like this forever, just looking at her eyes, smiling, however, someone had to break this silence and in this case, it was him. “ i think we did perfect. ” he said with a soft smile forming on the corners of his lips. 

as their eyes met , it was impossible to look away - she always felt like that when she was with him , especially if they were singing. something about him , just felt like home - something about him just made her heart flutter. yeah of course he was crazy good looking , but it was something else. as he spoke , it broke the gaze that they were holding and she shook her head. ❝ we sounded great , right? ❞ she asked , twirling a piece of her long hair around her finger. ❝ i mean , we always sound great -- but there’s something about our impromptu performances that you know --- really rock. ❞

    out of all the people in the glee club, there was always something about singing with barbie that just felt special in a way. she had a voice of an angel, and no doubt she was one of the best singers the campus had, but there was also something when they sang together, that just felt absolutely right. he gave a quick glance at the music sheets and joined her, just like he always does.

a smile spread across her lips as she heard his voice , that  voice that gave her butterflies. that  voice that gave her feelings that she didn’t know she could feel. her eyes fluttered shut , as she lost herself in the soft piano notes and the tone of elijah’s voice harmonising with hers. this was where she loved to be. when the song came to an end , she opened her eyes and found his - her own orbs almost glistening as she opened her mouth to speak , but nothing came out.
