the rebelwise/ rowill scene isn’t about Byler. It’s about Will.
I think we need to give more credit to this scene.
I feel like this fandom hasn't acknowledged it enough (or I could just be living under a rock).
But either way I think a lot of us missed the point with this convo. We shouldn't hope for will to pursue something romantic when he's still trying to feel comfortable with his sexuality. I mean he's a little gay boy in the 80s, that's a lot to get through besides having feelings for your best friend. This season isn't about Byler it's about Will.
The same way Robins look was before she went into the tunnel.
This look was never about Byler, it was about Will and only Will. It was about Robin seeing Will and his struggle to accept himself, looking for answers in someone else. Which is brought up again in the tunnels.
This scene can be interpreted in many ways, but it is always about Will. speaking as a Byler fan myself this post isn't anti- Byler or meant to attack any part of the fandom. I think it's important though that we appreciate the character and respect their development outside of a popular ship and know when to separate a character from their ship.
Especially in regards to their queer journey.
And could we not tag all rebelwise stuff with Byler? I scrolled thru 15 posts and only 2 of them didn’t have the tag. Sorry atp it’s just a pet peeve of mine, but they do have a friendship outside of their own romantic relationships.
and the Byler tag will be there even tho there was NO MENTION of Mike. Theres a time and a place fellow gay people 😭
