Minorly insane about Kingdom Hearts

the khux player makes me a little insane because like they’re Doomed from the start but i don’t even know how to describe exactly how. doomed by the narrative? well like. not the narrative of khux itself but kinda like the overarching metanarrative in the series. they never appeared in the future like the others we knew were gonna make it out because how could they have? doomed by virtue of ‘this is a customizable avatar with no canon face name voice gender appearance personality etc; how could we possibly take them outside of this type of story’. like how could they ever have taken a pod and escaped to the future. kh isn’t a series where the main character is a customizable blank slate like that we know it’s sora and ultimately it’s gonna be sora forever and the khux player has no business appearing again if they’re not gonna be the player. like. doomed by the medium, maybe? if they had been a canon character from the start they might’ve stood a chance but they were never supposed to be real. a lot of people figured they were gonna die purely bc how could they live, right. i mean now there’s khml but that’s just one more life, one more game, but ultimately they’re still an avatar again and presumably meet their end like that once more. they did so much but never truly were a person that existed. they existed to each individual person who ever customized them but not in the grand scheme of things. they had a tiny bit of canon character but it was introduced too late to change their fate. they became real but not fast enough. it’s 11pm am i making any sense
