*the baker stops whistling and slowly turns, his face spreads into a grin.*
*he goes to open the window and leans out*
Oh. Hello, Mr. Tallmadge. I didnāt think Iād have the pleasure of meeting you so⦠suddenly.
⦠quite a surprise for us both, I must imagine?
Surprising, yes.
*He stares back at the baker. Interesting, how he doesn't seem very worried.
... A catapult?
*the baker nods, and takes the pie into the oven. He doesnāt know what to make of Tallmadgeās neutral expression..*
Yes. How else should I throw the cakes such distances?
Nevermind, why are you here? Last time one of you came I got shot.
Why do you need to throw them?
...
That did happen, didn't it.... Curiosity, then, as my reason for being here. Or my fault.
Itās a marketing g strategy.
*he mumbles, and looks back up at Tallmadge*
But it seems it worked, if you say you came here out of curiosityā¦
*he stares for a minute.*
ā¦would you like to join me for dinner?
*Tallmadge studies him, rather intensely, before sighing.
Alright, if you wish. Suppose it'll be better than what we've got at camp..
*the baker grins without blinking, and moves to open the door quickly.*
Come in, then! The pieās almost ready. I hope you like meat.
But of course you do, donāt you?
*He enters the house, with his gait somewhat stiff.
You must know my inclinations well. I'm quite fond of the both of them.
*The baker gestures to the dining table, pulling a chair out for Tallmadge to sit.*
Good, so am I.
*he walks back to the kitchen and fetches the meat pie from the oven, then proceeds to take the necessary cutlery before setting the table. He sits down opposite of Tallmadge.*
You can cut it first.
*He stares at the other, holding out a knife between them.*
.. Alright.
*Tallmadge takes the knife hesitantly, then carefully cutting out a comically large slice.
*The bakerās eyes widen in slight surprise, and he himself takes a slice.*
ā¦soo.. what do you think? Itās all naturally sourced.
*He looks at the pie, then takes a surprisingly confident bite of it.
...
It's quite nice. Though, if you donāt mind my asking, how exactly is it naturally sourced?
I think you, of all people, know exactly what I mean.
*he licks his lips and chews on a bite, as if in quiet contemplation.*
Would you be interested in seeing how I operate⦠on a closer scale?
...
*Tallmadge leans a little closer, looking both confused and curious.
How do you mean, "closer"?
*he gestures to the door leading to the basement, with a grin on his face.*
The slaughterhouse itself, Mr. Tallmadge.
*He looks intrigued for a while, before frowning.
I ought to goā I was on a rather important mission before this...
*the baker shrugs, but canāt hide the apparent disappointment in his voice.*
Your choice, Mr. Tallmadge, though I was looking forward to showing you. Maybe another time?
Yes, if we have another opportunity... I'd be alright with that.
*He stands up.
Well, thank you, sir. I appreciate your hospitality.
*he nods and gestures to the door, still sitting down*
Of course.. you know where to find me.
*the baker stops whistling and slowly turns, his face spreads into a grin.*

*The abandoned House is silent.. but thereās a delicious smell coming from the smashed window.*
*you can see a decorated table when you look inside, with two chairs placed on either end. On the table thereās placed a mouthwatering amount of bread, biscuits, blood-red wine, steak, mashed potatoes, fresh salad with dressing, apples, and of course, cakes.*
*⦠you canāt see the bakerā¦*
..
*Caleb sighs, grips his gun, and looks to Spyro
Alright boy, letās go..
*He carefully gets in through the smashed window, and helps Spyro get in as well. He looks around the room, seeing the amount of food at the table, his stomach churns with nausea as he remembers what might be inside of the food
..Hello..? Anyone here?
-Caleb Brewster
*someone taps his shoulder from behind.*
Hello.
*The baker grins widely, looking Caleb up and down while⦠god is he licking his lips?⦠Theyāre probably just dry, yeah, that must be it*
*After an uncomfortable silence, he gestures to the table.*
Sit Down! Sit Down⦠it took sooo long to prepare all of this.
*Caleb jumps at the sudden touch, turning around and suddenly becoming more aware of the gun in his pocket. It was most definitely from anxiety
Yeah.. I bet.
*Caleb sits down, stiff and uncomfortable. He notices how the baker looked at him, and he knew that he was in danger, but he wanted as much information as he could get on the man
So.. Uh.. What all did you make?
-Caleb Brewster
*the baker sits down opposite of him, and leans over the table. He pours a hefty amount of wine in Calebās glass, and does the same with his own.*
Well.. I made a feast for us. Thatās what a proper host does, isnāt it?
*he stares expectantly at the other, while starts to serve the steak. God it smells good, itās properly seasoned, even with rosemary.*
Eat up.
*Caleb wanted to throw up, knowing that the āsteakā is most definitely not from an animal. With a stiff face, he picks up the fork and takes a bite, holding back a hard grimace that begged to come out. He then carefully positioned a napkin over his face, and swiftly gave Spyro a bit of the food, not wanting to continue to eat the steak. He was mortified.
You live here?
*Caleb looked around the room, asking in between chews. He wanted information out of the Baker, something that would be helpful for him. His nerves grew the longer he stayed at the damn place.
*The baker smiles as Caleb eats, leaning back in his chair while happily sipping the wine.*
Hmm? Yes, I do. But It depends on how busy the bakery is, else I live with my⦠Boss
*he shrugs, and begins to eat the steak, still staring at Caleb. Does this guy never blink??*
But it bores me, all that flour and dough, and not enough⦠meat.
*he grins again, and points to Caleb with his knife.
I guess you havenāt had a good steak to eat for longer than me! The rations are low, no?
*Caleb tensed, noticing the fact that this dude never fucking blinks. Itās like heās a skinwalker or something. He takes in the information given and continues to cautiously eat
Meatā?
*His hand instinctively reaches for his gun in his pocket when the Baker points the knife at him, then he calms down, placing the hand firmly on the gun through the fabric of his pants. His feeling was getting worse, he just wanted to get information and leave
Yeah, rations are getting low. But Washington has a plan to get more food soon, so itāll be fine..
*After an uncomfortable silence, Caleb put on the best fake smile that he could and spoke before taking a big bite of the food, it made him feel sick
So, tell me about yourself. Whyād you come to this camp?
*the baker smiles as he nods, and finally blinks, then toys with the knife while speaking.*
Thatās good news⦠wouldnāt do good to have soldiers run on measly cabbages and bread.
I came to the camp⦠well I donāt recall.. I think I was running an errand for Boss, when a cake hit me.
*He looks off for a moment, before looking down to Spyro. The dog is⦠wobbling..*
*before it drops to the ground*
Uh oh.
*The baker stares back at Caleb, a toothy grin spreading on his face*
I guess you gave it your steak, huh, Mr. Brewster?
..
*Caleb stares at Spyro on the ground, horror taking over his face. He quickly reached for his gun and in a sudden act of angerā he shot the baker in the stomach twice, and picked Spyro up
YOU BASTARD! The FUCK did you put in that shit? I thought it was justā human meatā YOU POISONED THIS SHIT?!
Iāll be coming back for you, youāre going to fucking DIE!
*And with that, Caleb rushes to the window and gets out, Spyro over his shoulder
@number-one-butterfly-anon WE GOTTA GO, NOW!
*The baker keels over and laughs, blood pooling at the mouth as he frantically puts pressure on his wounds*
You ate it too! You sssstupid man! Youāll feel it soon!!
*Caleb can still hear the bakerās laugh as he runs out of the damned house*
Is it wobbling now, Mr. Brewster?
*The abandoned House is silent.. but thereās a delicious smell coming from the smashed window.*

*a tall man seated on a horse rides closer. Presumably the boss of this baker. He hops down, and wrinkles his nose when he sees the two. The Baker sends a glare in return.*
I heard that my⦠dear employee, has once again caused a ruckus. I am truly sorry, Mr. Brewster.
I will get him out of your hair, but I heard something about⦠cannibalism?
Surely youāre mistaken?
Yesā please take him.
Cannibalism..
We found him in an abandoned house, outside in the forest.. He was in the cellar and dragging around somethingā then when we saw him in the light.. well.. take a look for yourself.
*Caleb nods over to the baker, who still had blood on him
He told me that whatever he was dragging was for his recipe.
-Caleb Brewster
*The boss scoffs at this, scrutinises the baker, then drags him up by the collar of his shirt .*
You⦠sly little scum. You run from our bakery, and this is where I find you, covered in blood, for another one of your silly recipes?
*the baker stares at Caleb while his boss manoeuvres him up on the horse.*
I am truly sorry, so sorry, again, Mr. Brewster. He has some⦠tendencies.. Iāll be sure to inquire him about it, once heās of right mind.
I⦠umm.. but please, do not put him on trial for this. He is my only baker.
*the baker does a cutthroat gesture in Calebās general direction, as the boss gets on the horse too. Geez.*
