This is what I don't like about Triple H's booking. Even his attempts at unpredictability feel predictable if you're paying attention.
As soon as he 'did it', Cole was talking about other injuries he'd had to his knees. There was no information leaking out, like 'Seth has done x to his knee', or 'Seth will be out x weeks / months'. It was never sold as authentic.
I showed my wife Wrestlemania X7 a few weeks ago - she's only seen WWE since it came to Netflix - and one of the things that stood out to her was the presentation of it feeling more real. It felt like people were straining for rope breaks, when the wrestlers brawled into the crowd, there wasn't a camera stood there waiting to capture it, etc.
Triple H doesn't want to present things as real, but you need to present the fictional world as though it is to maintain the integrity of it. He's no-selling it, so everything feels too heavily foreshadowed and therefore predictable.
