As soon as he 'did it', Cole was talking about other injuries he'd had to his knees. There was no information leaking out, like 'Seth has done x to his knee', or 'Seth will be out x weeks / months'. It was never sold as authentic.

I showed my wife Wrestlemania X7 a few weeks ago - she's only seen WWE since it came to Netflix - and one of the things that stood out to her was the presentation of it feeling more real. It felt like people were straining for rope breaks, when the wrestlers brawled into the crowd, there wasn't a camera stood there waiting to capture it, etc.

I don’t post much here. It’s usually about comics or whatever, but I find myself getting really pissed off an I need an outlet.

I’m currently wondering if there are a more fickle set of football fans in the country than ours? Probably an unfair question, most supporters of most clubs actually share most of the same traits, but it’s becoming unbearable for me at the minute.

Tony Pulis was at Stoke and he was the anti-football devil. He comes to us and he’s the messiah.

The fans want Stephane Sessegnon to start every game, pointing to statistics of our win percentage with and without him. Pulis takes a dislike to him, and suddenly he’s an overrated flair player we can do without.

Similarly, they wanted Chris Brunt dropped because of our results being better with him out of the side. But Pulis keeps picking him, and suddenly everybody loves him again, based on his assists record (which had hardly been terrible before Pulis took over).

And now Youssouf Mulumbu, a former player of the year, and a lot of peoples favourite, has been discarded... and people are happy with this, saying we’ve seen his best and we needed to get rid... just months after most agreed he should be in the starting eleven.

This goes back a while though, to last summer. Like most Albion fans, I hated the pinstripe home shirt... it was a nice shirt, but it wasn’t Albion. But then everybody decides they love it, and it gets record shirt sales, even after the aggravation it caused amongst the fans.

Whatever Tony Pulis does is obviously right, despite him being a footballing dinosaur who needs to become extinct.

I laughed until I nearly cried at this last panel...

I always try to keep this blog a little light-hearted, even when writing about sexism, racism, etc. in comics, I still keep in mind that it's just comics. And I wasn't going to mention Mandela's death, but I find I need to vent after seeing how it has been treated by some people.

Since his death, I have seen several people, from the actress Dakota Blue Richards to my girlfriends sister, drag up that back in the 1980's, our PM David Cameron was involved in an organisation that had something to do with t-shirts calling for the hanging of Mandela. It can be categorically stated that Cameron had nothing to do with the t-shirts himself, but it has been used as a stick for people to beat the PM with.

What really annoys me is this; Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, and when he was released, he worked tirelessly to help his fellow man, regardless of the colour of their skin. Not only that, but he helped South Africa on the way to healing following the awful apartheid era. Never once did he persecute the people who put him in prison, preferring instead the path of forgiveness, realising that there was a much bigger picture beyond himself. Instead of taking this great man's example, these people used his death for their own domestic political point-scoring. It is so small minded and annoying it makes me want to scream.

I know it is typically university-educated people who have been steeped in an extremely left-wing environment for years, and have come out with very strong viewpoints. There is nothing wrong with holding strong beliefs or being liberal (my girlfriend fills those criteria). But the people using Mandela's death as a weapon against Cameron are the same people who were celebrating in the wake of Margaret Thatchers death.

They were human beings. They had families. Moreover, they were important political leaders who changed their countries through sheer force of will. History will laud Mandela for the impact he had through sheer hard work, willpower, and the force on an electric personality. Yet when you look for people who will take on his example, you are confronted with people who hold the pettiest of grudges just because somebody doesn't hold the same beliefs as them, or had the fortune to be born into money, and will use even the death of an icon such as Madiba for their own personal politics.
