[Kaebel JK Hashitani]

Hi. I’m Kaebel JK Hashitani. I’m a 50yo cishet male of Japanese & Scottish descent, living in Portland, OR USA. My CV is decidedly less cluttered in our third year of the C19 Era. I’m the operations administrator for Guardian Games, and cohost of Geek In The City Radio. In May 2020, my partner and I closed Sequential Art Gallery after operating for 15 years, which is a loss I’ve still yet to fully process. We still reside in downtown with our animal companions. I’m still an avid lover of LEGO, horror, and Star Trek, not necessarily in that order.

Much like everyone else, I’ve been attempting to cope with *gestures at the world* all of this as best I can, through a mix of pop culture entertainment, disassociation, social media activism, anti-depressants, misdirected anger, retail therapy, compartmentalization, avoidance, and pet-snuggling. For someone who used to have a very public-facing life for more than a decade, I’ve been more isolated than I’ve ever been, and haven’t actively tried to work through this. I’ve also become decidedly more leftist and anti-capitalist than I’ve ever been. So if we haven’t reconnected in a meaningful way, for my part that’s by design since I am still figuring out how to talk to people again before delving into “We’re all doomed” rhetoric.

Just know that I do, sincerely, still love you. I don’t expect to ever have what we had before, but maybe we can have something new.
