I'm doing a course on colonial family history rn and it's very interesting but also so weirdly white. we 5 out of 6 of our guest lectures were given by white teachers but even weirder they all ended their lecture about the destructive nature of colonialism and its mark on history with 'you should really come to [ex-colony] it's so beautiful and cheap haha' like Okay.

I shouldn't base my worth off my academic achievements blabla but actually I do. it's the one thing I objectively know that I'm good at. I trust my intelligence and I know people look up to me for it but it feels so weird to have that feeling validated like this ya know

I can't believe I almost dropped out of high school because I was so suicidal and now I've been accepted into two different research masters

this also means there's a 60% chance I'll be going abroad in my second year ... woa

I got accepted into 2 out of 3 of the research master programmes I applied to 🧘🧘🧘🧘

I'm glad I have a bunch of free time now so I can cook a healthy dinner for my partner every night ... they're in the trenches working on their thesis rn
