What if the son/daughter travelled back in time with thier spouse and had a kid that was actually the son/daughter's father/mother? What would some problems with that?
:)
A small PSA to all those new to dealing with the porn bots that Tumblr now has a fresh wave of – I understand that when you go to report them, you want to report them as "[containing] sexually explicit material", but don't do that. Report them as spam instead.
These are spam bots flooding tags and the website in general with spam links. They often do not have anything sexually explicit on their blog (although they often have implicit material). Plus, these two reports get very different results. Reporting explicit material gets the bot slapped behind an 18+ wall, so minors can't check if they're a bot or not. Reporting spam gets the bot taken down.
Remember, folks: when dealing with a bot, report spam, not smut!

I made a baby blanket for a pregnant woman at work and I went back and forth about it like “is this weird? To like hand make something for someone when we’re like friendly acquaintances not like bffs. God why are you so fucking awkward.” Anyway I gave it to her and she said she loved it and in the back of my head I’m like yea she’s nice and probably just humoring the weirdo. Well she texted me a picture this weekend of a scrunchy faced newborn at the hospital wrapped in the blanket I made her. And I’m like. Wow. She loved it so much she took it with her! To the hospital! To give birth! She wrapped her newborn it! I am just so filled with love and joy right now.
People will love the things you make them. Because you thought of them and you cared.

Apollo: I thought happiness started with an 'h' - why does mine start with 'u'?
Daphne: Because you're illiterate.
Bro, you're holding it upside down...
Apollo is a Patron of young communities and protector of new cities.
I feel like this is yet another aspect often forgotten about Apollo when His other aspects - usually much older ones - get most of the attention. However, it’s important to remember that He is multi-faceted like any God is.
Apollo has been historically noted to serve as a protector of those who are young and the establishments that are new, such as newly built cities. A lot of Spartan towns were first blessed by His light, the connection here being often tied to the metaphor of wolves - being one of His sacred animals - serving as the basis of the building society. He was among the first Gods to sanctify cities under Roman rule, too.
Apollo isn’t all sunshine, music, and art. He can and has been reported to be a serious, protective, ruthless, fatherly Deity. He is capable of the same judgement in state matters that “traditionally seen as serious” Gods are usually associated with.
It would be so nice to see Him praised as something other than sunshine and art. There are so many aspects to Apollo that are almost never talked about on here: protector of cities, patron of athletes, father, wolf-tamer, patron of shepherds, bringer of justice. It’d be nice to see these parts of His personality appreciated.
god of disease and medicine, plague and healing, prophesy and madness, light and darkness, god of rats, god of locusts and flies, agricultural, the god of mists and fog, obscuring Loxias. The god of truth who hides his wisdoms in murky prophesies. The god of assassins, the pharmatikoi, the god who is Nymphagetes, Moiragetes, and Musagetes. The Destroyer, the Torchbearer, the god of sudden death, the patron of contest winners. A god of wilderness and the taming of the wilds to make for civilizations. One of many gods who rule sky, sea, and earth through combined epithets. Mountainborn on an island with no roots, The god who makes flowers grow, and the Pythian lord. A god called King Foivos but who also owes fealty to the Father Zeus. Apollo who guards the gates, the god who watches the doors. A god of foreigners; he is not natively Greek, but paradoxically called the Most Grecian god. He’s so much more than sunshine and pop music; all of the Theoi are far more complex than popular understanding would have people believe.
everyone say thank you greta

Before the holidays, I was having a really bad couple of days, and needed to get in the shop and make things. This is the most recent creation. He's about a 90:1 scale model of a tiny Neonella boy I found this summer. I love him. 🖤
As most of you are already well aware, South America is an incredibly biodiverse continent. This perhaps goes double for everything that lives in or around the water. Thousands of fish species call the rivers and coastlines home. Many of them resemble each other strongly and seem to have little "purpose", if fish are even supposed to have a purpose. From the perspective of a layperson, especially one already exhausted by current world events, there might not be a visible point in differentiating various species beyond a certain threshold. Who cares about them, anyway?
Let's look at Bryconops chernoffi. It doesn't have a common name. It's named after professor Barry Chernoff, who is responsible for a great deal of research on the taxonomy of the genus Bryconops, as well as contributions to general ichthyological knowledge.
You've probably never heard of this fish. You've probably never heard of Chernoff.
Still, there are people who care enough about this tiny fish from a random Amazonian creek somewhere to name it after someone else who also cares. Professor Chernoff described it as "the honor of a lifetime", and wrote personally to the researchers responsible - Cárlison Silva-Oliveira, Flávio C. T. Lima, and Juan D. Bogotá-Gregory - to thank them. Naming the fish like that is like a little reminder that someone is there for these animals, even if nobody has heard of them before, even if nobody thinks there's any point. We can see them. We can help.
I mean, I guess of all people, I should know that someone cares. I'm the reason all 27 species of Bryconops have a Wikipedia page, after all.
Someone cares.
