though the funny part of N.S. being SEA with genuine mixed mongolian blood is pretty funny for being part of the great khans. there are a few white guys in there genuinely accidentally LARPing being mongolians and N.S. doesnt give a single fuck about culture and is thus completely ironically super detached from a factual dactual aspect of bloodline heritage.

the awesome thing about following primarily BIPOC is that i become blissfully unaware that a majority of people on tumblr genuinely dont seem to register the idea that they can create art that contains non-white people and isnt just a japanese person. fix your hearts babes.

N.S. doesnt sleep with a blanket and barely ever sleeps on a bed roll but its cute and funny to imagine N.S. getting cold and then seeking out chance and like scooting progressively closer to him in a bid for warmth and getting tucked away at a certain proximity like that cat that sat on a baby's crib and the baby fucking grabbed it and dragged it into a teddy bear hold

i have a handful of "N.S. came back wrong" aus based on various things and time frames, amd N.S. is defo the one who works best with it due to the fact N.S. has a habit of disappearing and reappearing out of nowhere and especially that month long stretch where chance was forced to accept that N.S. had either died or left without a trace, but it is interesting to imagine a "chance is back but he came back wrong" au. chance is the obvious overt sufferer of the two, but N.S.' core companion story is about how N.S. suffers deeply but doesnt gave the support network, mental faculties, or emotional ability to even begin to process it healthily in the same way chance has learned to. chance would accept an N.S. that came back wrong from a place of grief and pain and bargaining, but N.S. is a bit more complex. N.S. accepts chance's death without question and cannot fathom and outright fears the idea of a corpse that comes back to life. that alongside N.S.' extreme responses to fear fighting against N.S.' overwhelming desire to just have chance back would be sooo interesting to me. chance would sit there and take whatever wrong-N.S. has in store for him because he loves N.S. and misses N.S. and all he wants is for N.S. to be alive and well no matter the cost to himself. N.S. is liable to treat a wrong-chance in very conflicting ways and respond to violence or percieved threat with violent means of suppression that would destroy the point of havkng chance back for most people. idk. very vindicating for the "N.S. doesnt actually care about chance and just likes his convenience" crowd (<- they'd be wrong of course)

as chance becomes an uglier and uglier version of himself trying to protect the things he cares about N.S. attempts course correction by becoming a neater more idealistic embodiment of their bond and thats just kind of sad but also a bit tender in its own way i think. towards the end they were both trying as hard as they could but in the wrong directions. a blind person and a deaf person trying to help each other navigate life together.
