Woman is a gender not an orientation. Mental illness is a statement on ability, not orientation. Poc is a statement of race, not orientation. Ace is... an orientation, just like lesbian/gay/bi/pan. So you can't really use examples of women/poc/mentally ill folks not being lgbtq because those characteristics aren't directly relevant in the same way aceness and aroness is.

When people define the community as 'sga and trans' or claim that only sga people are oppressed because of their marginalisation, it is biphobic and nbphobic if it excludes certain bi and nb folk who should be included anyway

“sga” Literally just describes the type of attraction targeted by homophobia. why are so many of the arguments against it just “it doesn’t include [people that dont experience sga].” it doesnt include everyone thats the point. when talking about homophobia we need SOME kind of term that refers to people who experience attraction to their own gender because……that’s what homophobia targets

people use the term sga to determine who we should care about in terms of marginalisation and oppression based on orientation, its also used to define who is lgbt, so saying that its not meant to include people (who are included using different terms) isn't good enough.

Ive seen a lot of ppl in discourse (sga or ace discourse) usin the phrase “go off” but could you not use it if u arent black? Its aave so if you arent u dont really have any claim to it

i just find it kinda suspicious that the bi community’s definition of bi that i had always seen before was “attracted to one’s own gender and one or more other genders” and that it’s only now that people (bi or otherwise) are starting to argue the validity of “bi but not sga”,,,

I also find it suspicious that a year ago nb people's validity was debated and now everyone calls us trans because trans now means "not cis", it's like communities have to be stagnant and not be open to accepting people they previously didn't accept
