Today ends a chapter... it’s bittersweet! I have officially closed the book with my @G987FM family, after 6+ years! To take it back to 2011, this opportunity truly was a dream come true. I worked soooo hard up to that point and made many sacrifices just for a shot at something like this. It meant so much to me! While there, I got to meet so many incredible people. I got to put my finger on the pulse of our city Toronto, and literally felt it breathe. I got to understand why this station meant so much and why it was so important. I got to see where we could do better for our community, and will tell you I always fought for it. I got to see people embrace our culture in ways I hadn’t seen before. It was pretty awesome having a hand in that. The listeners, clients, and fans were always memorable (I have stories for days) but it was my coworkers that gave it a special meaning to me. It’s a trip having a job/career, that almost never felt like work. It was far from perfect, but I knew I was truly blessed. I remember staying late on Friday nights just working non-stop with a few key players. The excitement of each day and the responsibility we had always weighed heavily on our shoulders. Fast forward to today, the station has definitely evolved, but not without some cuts and bruises along the way. Media overall in Canada right now isn’t the same as it was years ago (and I’m barely talking years ago). In closing, I want to thank everyone that has been a part of this journey with me. From the personalities, promotions, creative, new media, music, production, sales, traffic, news departments, and management. All the best moving forward:) Oh and in case you’re wondering, I’ve got a new opportunity within the radio industry in Toronto. Stay tuned! #LastDay #G987 #Promotions #Radio #NewBeginning #BitterSweet #Respect #Professional #Humility #Forward
