Don Cherry, Â and cancel culture
There are two wordâs that can perfectly shape up how the last decade ended. 2019 was the birth of the super woke âcancel cultureâ movement. Cancel culture is basically a hybrid of the #metoo movement, that took down an army of men in Hollywood, and executives in the elite media press. However, what makes cancel culture the champion of the last decade is that you donât actually have to do anything wrong.
Step 1: Choose a platform
Step 4: Create source of self-income
Step 5: Create source of income for the platform you choose
Congratulations you have just been Cancelled Cultured!!!
Throughout 2019 we have seen what people are calling a âpurgeâ of social media accounts being de-platformed for expressing opinions that people have had since the beginning of their careers. I will not list out everyone who is on this list of honor. Because, I am sure everyone has someone that has been affected by righteous cause. Now, when we look at the #metoo moment there was a lot of exposure to a lot of bad apples in which brought justice to people that deserved to be heard. I hate to say it, and this might sound crazy. But things may have gone too far? I mean, things going too far in the 21st century? Who would have thought? Cancel culture is a different beast. It knows if you are different, it knows when you speak, it knows when you tweet, it doesnât matter your age, experience, qualifications, itâs watching you. You are a soldier marching in the North Korean army, step out of line and you will be executed. With the cancel culture train chugging along Canada jumped right at the first stop. Itâs not even surprising to say that Canada has even jumped on the express train of cancel culture. Canadaâs biggest victim to get hit by the culture train has been the beloved face of hockey night in Canada, Coachâs Corner, Don Cherry. Being in the month of January 2020 it is safe to assume that if you are Canadian you already know what happened to Don, so I will leave that part out, and we will focus more on what all of this exactly means. Rogers Communications is a Canadian based company that along a few other companies in Canada are gods. There is not a single stadium in Canada that hosts professional sports that doesnât have the words ârogersâ or one of Canadaâs elite banks slapped on every inch of surface available. This year for the first time, Rogers communications has purchased the rights to the âCBCâs Hockey Night in Canadaâ. Hmm, a multi-billion-dollar company purchasing what has been a tax funded program is in itself a very interesting story. However, I will save that for another time. By the way, let me know when I get cut a check for selling off part of the business I technically have funded since I started working at 16.
B@CKLASH â Here is the most interesting part of the whole story⌠PEOPLE WERE SHOCKED. As a firm believer of freedom of speech stories like this make my blood pressure rise. I love hockey and have been watching Coaches Corner since as long as I can remember, and for some reason I didnât even bat an eye when all of this stuff was coming out. I genuinely was in no way surprised as to what was happening. Rogers is a globalist elite company that will not throw out a commercial without a family that doesnât have at least three different ethnicities. Now, we all know thatâs biologically impossible, but letâs not get into that. Honestly, what do people expect? Now we have big bad don. Born in the 1930âs Don is a white elderly male proud Canadian sports influencer, that has a mentality of what some people would call âold schoolâ. He has a lot of passion and respect for men and women and uniform and will never think differently. Because, we live in a world where the average personâs opinion doesnât matter Don Cherryâs career is now over. might mighty Rogers can now decide who will be the face of hockey for the next upcoming generation. Even god rested on the 7th day, but, remember, Cancel Culture doesnât sleep. I briefly had a glimpse of the Hockey Night in Canada post Don, and it was pretty woke. Ron Mclean, Donâs co-host for over 30 years through thick and thin, has now pledged to the great god of Rogers Communications. I will leave you with gospel according to Ron Mclean. âI am white privileged, and I didnât realize it before, but now I realize, I Am a white male and I am privileged, and I am sorry.â Yours Truly, Ron Mclean.
