So, we went to Coney Island today. I haven’t really been since I worked there in 2013. I always loved visiting the “Trip to the Moon” building, and fantasizing about what it was like. Apparently it was THE DARK RIDE to go on back in 1901! It cost the dude (Frederic Thompson) $85,000 to construct!!! It took riders on and airship over New York, and eventually to the moon, like in Georges Méliès’ film. The ride featured state of the art technology like electricity and lights, a ride vehicle suspended on wires that moved, fans that blew air, and a turning background that simulated the flight from New York to the clouds, and eventually the moon. After you landed on the moon, you got off and walked around the planet with live actors playing characters. This may not sound like anything now... but back then... it must’ve been like Disney quality and the most thrilling unreal experience you could’ve gone on.

I went there today and the building is a bar/restaurant/MUSIC VENUE (brought to you by fucking Ford)! And I got extremely depressed. Just like how depressed I am at the fucking Barclay’s Center. I HATE THE BARCLAY’S CENTER! It was gonna be a state of the art amusement park until that fuck JayZ turned it into two things I fucking HATE. Live music and fucking sports. I HATE LIVE MUSIC AND SPORTS! UGHHHHH!

Ya know, for the greatest city on earth, we sure have the shittiest amusement venues.
