It’s actually more than that, though, if you read the articles or watch the videos. This has taken place over YEARS- it started with these birds following this little girl around because she was a messy eater and it has turned into a ritual for the family. They have a water station and food stations where they daily set out things for these birds and sometimes (but not always), these birds leave ‘payment’ behind for the food.

Understanding someone’s suffering is the best gift you can give another person. Understanding is love’s other name. If you don’t understand, you can’t love.

The greatest impurity is ignorance. Free yourself from it. Be pure.

“Crazy” is one of the five deadly words guys use to shame women into compliance. The others: Fat. Ugly. Slutty. Bitchy. They sum up the supposedly worst things a woman can be. What we really mean by “crazy” is: “She was upset, and I didn’t want her to be.”

When you realize happiness isn’t next weekend, and it’s not last week, it’s right now. That was one of the best nights of my life. It felt good to know purpose. I lay in my bunk and I think of all the stories I’m in. I think about all the stories that are in my story. I think about all the stories that are left to be written. And it might be my favorite book yet.
