if you constantly apologize for the things that bring you joy as a "thanks" for getting to experience them, you will only ever be able to surround yourself with people who expect the apology for when you enjoy yourself.
to the people who tag this post with sadfaces, you can avoid this by learning the skills of not apologizing for when you're excited. something that often helped me bridge the gap was saying thank you instead of apologizing. did i just spam the shit out of someone because i was excited and want to apologize? it helps to thank them for listening instead.
if you get stuck on apologizing for your own excitement it often becomes a bad thing to be excited in the first place. these aren't things you should apologize for at all. these are the things that people who want to be your friend want to see.
Nicky usually has long hair, down to his hips if he doesn't have it tied, but he's been known to do the Taylor anime thing of occasionally cutting it short(er) with a sword for the drama
Nicholas Foster was more studious and an all-around teacher's pet but Nick Close actually got better grades. Related, Nicholas sat at the front of the class and Nick sat at the back.

When Nicky "can't make portals anymore" it's just cause Jodie has grounded him and/or Jodie has enforced a cap on the amount of portals he can use, as a result of previous shenanigans/misuse of portals.
I sort of just like to imagine that post-canon Nicky and Hermie 2.0 are both living in Hell for a while and much of Nicky's habits drive Hermie insane (and vice versa), but they also have a lot of long, often hyper conversations in the kitchen at 2 a.m. in which they both get too loud

Nicky is clingy in general, but his demon puberty involves behavioral changes corresponding to each layer of Hell, and when he starts going through his greed phase he starts lovebiting his friends. Sparrow (love wolf) and Grant (dissociative masochist) are both pretty into this development, Terry thinks it's... Sweet? He'll tolerate it. Lark will not tolerate it.
