I’ve spent a lot of my life thinking that I’m not allowed to be angry with people and I get taken advantage of because of that. So now I’m angry, and nothing you can do will convince me otherwise. I can’t keep existing on eggshells with the people I love. That isn’t love, and I can’t believe I had to teach myself that. So it must be true—we really do accept what we believe we are deserving of.

Maybe I didn’t love you after all but when I met you I just couldn’t help myself. What if I just wanted to tame what you were? You are and always have been everything I can’t understand, so wild and vulgar and more you than the rest of us, never afraid of yourself the way I have been.
