decided to read the vampire lestat because i'm writing an essay about gay vampires for a gothic literature class (worth 70% of my final grade, praying that i don't fuck this up) and damn this guy is dramatic as hell but also casually says shit like "all the people had a right to love and to luxury and to graceful things" and it's one of the most heavy hitting lines i've ever read and it's from a book about a vampire rockstar who is making performance art out of spite
