Hi! This is not an easy post for me to make, but I recognize that I need to. My name is Ares, I’m 23, and I am a survivor of domestic violence. Back in March I left an abusive relationship of over two years (in which I lived with this person and, endured a lot). In order to escape, I had to leave a lot of my life behind (again, I’d done the same thing to leave my father back in 2021) including my laptop, most of my clothes, my cat (who unfortunately legally belonged to the other person), my books, all of my old sketchbooks from high school that my mother had managed to save from my father, and a lot more but it’s painful to get into.

I’ve been living with my best friend since the end of March, and now I’m going to be moving in with my mother (who is also a DV survivor) and sister in NYC. I am disabled, so finding employment has proved difficult, and I really want to finally start my free life at 23 years old. My mother is helping as much as she can, but I want to have some savings built so I can get clothes, a laptop, contribute to food, etc until I can find a job. So I’m opening headshot comms!!
