Chapter 6: Two Sides of the Same Coin

Kakashi exhaled through his nose, trying to calm himself down. “So?” Kakashi shot more measured back. “People change.”

“Not like this,” Gai said. “This doesn’t feel like change. It feels...performed.”

There it was again.

That careful choice of words. The way Gai always managed to circle the truth without naming it outright. Kakashi felt the irritation spark before he could stop it. Hot, reflexive and unwelcome. He hated how easily Gai could still reach him, how a single sentence was enough to peel back layers he’d spent weeks forcing into place.

“You’re reading way too much into this,” Kakashi said pretty sharp.

Nothing breaks like a heart, especially when someone leaves, taking with them all the pieces you entrusted them with, leaving you to rebuild your soul from the fragments they left behind.

In a dimly lit room filled with silence, Obito musters the courage to break free from a stifling relationship with Kakashi. Believing it's the right choice for his personal growth and happiness. However, as the dust settles and the days pass, Obito discovers that the emptiness left behind is far more profound than he ever imagined and somewhere in that silence, Kakashi begins to quietly fall apart.

I know many of you are looking forward to the next chapter of BSaS that was supposed to come out this month and I really appreciate your interest and excitement. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to dedicate time to working on it yet. My exams are just around the corner and between my part-time job and university deadlines I’ve had very little time to create something I would feel proud to share.
