I'm always tired

So, for Rhaenyra I’m back to my usual show+book appearance — she’s more platinum blonde than silver-haired, and plumper as well as much more bejeweled, lol. For her children, I chose to make their designs more dubious when it comes to their true parentage since the “they’re bastards” in the Fire & Blood book is treated as only a rumor; also, since the three are women in this concept, their looks tend towards the female side of the family more than they would in canon, and that means that the bastard rumor is treated even more like malicious badmouthing instead of actual truth. In any case:

- Jacaerys: pretty much a Rhaenys’ body double, though she inherited Rhaenyra’s thicker body. Sharper features and her eyes are also a deep purple, similar to Daemon’s — if she wasn’t black-haired the Royal court would probably accuse him of being the father. Favors dragon motifs and traditional Targaryen style and jewelry. She’s the perfect Crown Princess and you can bet that Rhaenyra and Rhaenys WILL have her on the Iron Throne after her mother come what may. She serves face and can give a judgemental side-eye as nobody’s business.

- Lucerys: the one who resembles Rhaenyra the most, although she also inherited Rhaenys’ dark hair and Aemma’s blue eyes (Viserys gets teary-eyed at this fact often). She THRIVES on acting exactly like a young Rhaenyra, personality-wise and down to dress color choices (book-based: black, purples and blues, though with the latter tending more towards Velaryon shades than Rhaenyra’s book-canon Arryn blues); favors the Velaryon fashion style though. Corlys’ all-time favorite — he’ll bankrupt House Velaryon to give her anything she wants. A new dress? In her wardrobe the next day. She wants to learn how to sail? Corlys commissions her a whole new ship. More pearl jewelry? Grandpa will handpick those himself, don’t worry princess <3

- Joffrey: very much Aemma’s granddaughter (I based her design on the brunette Aemma commission I did in 2026/05), including her personality. Shy and delicate looking, but knows curses that would make an experienced sailor blush. She’s the one of the three that is the closest to Laenor — because by the time she was born he was in a much better situation mentally than in the beginning of his and Rhaenyra’s marriage. She favors shades of Velaryon and Arryn blue, and silver jewelry, as well as Velaryon fashion styles, even though she’s officially the second-in-line to the throne after Jacaerys. Does enjoy having her mother deck her in Targaryen red and black occasionally though!

Some extras:

- @nouketou ‘s valyrian face markings strike again in my fanart! While all of them do have dragons, I think Rhaenyra and Jacaerys would be the only ones to wear both the warrior markings as well as the beauty ones. Lucerys and Joffrey use just the beauty ones while in court (the red ink smears easily! They don’t want to ruin the lighter fabric of their clothes! Stains are easier to hide when you’re dressed fully in red and black!).

- Those black dragon scales in Jacaerys’ crown and pinned to Rhaenyra’s braids are from Balerion and used to belong to Rhaenys and Visenya respectively — Aegon the Conqueror gifted them to his sister-wives as a wedding gift.

- Jacaerys’s crown is the one worn by Queen Alyssa Velaryon during her marriage with King Aenys — she wanted to have both her Targaryen and Velaryon heritage in display. Rhaenyra’s used to be the original Rhaenys’, because Visenya’s crown was destroyed sometime between Maegor’s death and Jaehaerys I’s coronation. Lucerys and Joffrey’s headpieces were made exclusively for them.

- I imagine Joffrey being something like 14 or 15 at the most in this fanart, and that’s why her dress is much more conservative than her sisters’. Rhaenyra, though, as always has no compunctions in showing her own cleavage lol
