Hey dude where did you learn to draw?
You see I sat like this, in the darks of my room with only my lamp light as a light source for years, holding my pencil without movement. I just could not move, i couldn’t figure out a way to draw anything, i was useless and I knew I would had to continue the horrible path of my father and become the useless boring peon of capitalism like him, or marry the first man who came in and offered a land for me, but I wanted to be an artist, draw and create art for my million self indulgent thoughts.
I could not learn to draw by myself, I could not look up references and tutorials in the vast space of media, i could not practice for days, months, years, try and fail constantly till I learned, cause obviously that’s not how us artist learn, constant effort, suffering and passion for what we like by giving our time to learn? no sir that is not the way, of course us artist learn magically, without effort, in a matter of minimum time.
Poof! One night, between my weeping self and my blank page i had for years without use, i looked outside my window into the vast dark skies full of starts which Van Gogh drew magically out of his ass, as the brightest star shined upon me, I said
-“oh if I wasn’t such a failure, If I just knew How TO drAw and WaS aS tAlEntEd AS ALL thE oTheR ARtiST who have iT SO EAsY and whO WerE bOrn PaIntinG ReInAScEnsE pIecES oUT thEIR mAMA’s pUZzy”
-“Oh but you needn’t be!”- Said a lot of voice all at once.
-“wh-who’s there?”- I asked shaken as I turned around to face my dim lit room. It was the ghost of all the most recognized artist of our history, all in one room looking at me with their magically talented miracoulus hands open, and satan in a corner.
-“you were choosen to be given the magical, miraculous, limited and completley free of suffering, non financial and energy draining talent to draw”- said all again in unision.
I was in awe, this was it, my prayers and laziness was finally answers by the deities of art, i was finally gonna be able to fill the white blank paper. I was lifted in the air sailor moon style and all the knowledge and talent flood my veins, millions of art history, art career years, anatomy studies, color, style and composition theories passed through my eyes til out of nowhere, I passed out.
I woke up in my desk, no ghosts were seen, with the pencil by my hand, I laid my eyes upon that blank page that all those years i couldn’t make myself touch. Easily, like water and a new found confidence, I drew perfectly, flowingly, no eraser was needed cause we don’t use that shit, i drew incomprenhensible pieces to the numb un artistic human mind, i filled sketchbooks in matter of seconds, i created my own style, I learned to draw digitally and use every art program out there, that world didn’t had shit on me, I shared my first drawing on christianTumblr.com, in a matter of minutes, 500, 1200, 6000, 10k followers, and still growing, notes and reblogs everywhere, i didnt even need to use tags, cause everyones sees my art.
I had made it, I had become and artist, without breaking a sweat in my whole ass life.
So dear, I didn’t learn in a place, i learned by wishing with all my heart upon a star and pathing myself in the shoulder for years till the ghosts of death artists and satan came and kissed my ass.
