The show does such a good job of further fleshing out the Bad Guys' insecurities and displaying their growth as individuals and as a team. Whenever one member had an issue, even if they end up causing conflict, they figure out a way to work through it.
πΊMr. Wolf is very corny & clumsy at the start, fumbling at his leadership role to a T. But by the end, he's grown closer to the cunning wolf he is in the present day. I personally think his prior failures at leadership were due to him having to navigate the leader role after years of being an apprentice to another crook which is mentioned in the series. Also watching him fuck up is so funny.
π·οΈWebs is such a geek in the show! I loved how the put in her love of weddings in the second film, so I feel like the series really explores that part of her more. She has a lot of independent female characters that she admires, to the point where she can get kinda fan girly. We also get to see some of Webs' insecurities which, I would say, is desire for community. In one episode, Webs felt worried that the others would drop her because she was performing subparly during their latest heists. In my favorite episode, "This Means Chore," she even says that her most precious possession is the time she spends with her new found friends. Adorable! π₯°
π¦Mr. Shark is definitely a characterπ While being very theatrical, he's also really jealous and holding grudges. Most of the time when he speaks about his past, it's usually connecting to some kind of beef, but he's definitely a gentle giant at heart π
π I don't really have much to say about Mr. Snake sadly, at least not on my personal feelings about him. But I guess something I've come to realize about him is how repressive he was (or is) and that in of itself is interesting.
But the character whose development I'm the most happy about is Mr. Piranha!
π When watching the movies (especially the first one) I felt like he was treated as just a joke or not as essential in character, and that is far from the truth in the series. The show writers gave him his time to shine, along as some interesting little quirks that really peaked my interest in him personally.
According to the series, he was actually the group's getaway driver at the beginning; though his role made him feel left out and lacking potential, which is why he became the muscle of the group. He's still chaotic and tries to one-way ticket himself during heists, but when he's at home, he actually prefers calm and cleanliness (as also shown in my favorite episodeπ)- he even drinks tea! Not only that but him and Shark are much closer, they often call each other "Finbro".
It's safe to say that while I found him interesting before, I genuinely love him so much more now that I watched the series π
Another thing I love about this series is the expansion of their world π I love how many anthropomorphic people are in the city (though most of them are criminals)
These two are Ricki (the owl) and Skulli (the goat), leaders of The Night Owls and The Gruff Goats respectively.
This diva is Vanna Tee, she's not a recurring character but her and shark have history and I personally really like her π
The show also makes references to the first film, like name dropping the crimson paw or building up to other significant details like how the gang got their lair.
I kid you not I actually screamed at some of these references bro π€£
