the point of art is not to be great but to make it transparently obvious that there is something wrong with you

don’t go for realism in your art if it frustrates you, get weird, get blocky, get wiggly, just try and draw what makes you happy, not something that meets a standard

draw it bad and draw it weird and draw it catered only to yourself and draw it wobbly and draw it too small and draw it with the default brush and draw it without using references and draw it and leave it unfinished and draw it for the first time and draw it

its so important to me that artists remember they can fuck around. you never have to use tools as intended. you can always skip steps. you dont have to be organized. you dont have to be neat. you can put as little effort as you want into the parts of the process you dont find fun. maybe if youre making products you cant do these things but on your own time you can do literally actually whatever the hell. it doesnt matter how long you spend on it youve made art and its complete when you decide to quit. yee haw

idk. it's never too late to start drawing. get a wacom intuos for 44 bucks and pirate an art program. use the billions of tools available to make it easier. trace 3d models. redraw existing drawings. make an elf and draw her 3000 times. you can do it. and if you are actually unable to hold a pen, dont go typing in prompts for some ai art, write fanfiction or original stuff. writing is art. it has just as much value it just takes longer than 1 second to appreciate
