Wʀɪᴛᴇʀs Bʟᴏᴄᴋ
He was unsure of how much time had passed a he sat there, tear filled eyes. A few people had stopped to ask him if he was okay, but most assumed why, giving sorrowful looks to the blond who sat alone. It wasn’t rare for people to be parted by distance. People moved home everyday, for work, for personal reasons. Roxas should’ve known something so perfect would’ve never worked out. How long would he be away from Axel before he could come back to visit? One week? a month? — if at all! For all he knew, the company probably had a certain time period in which you had to stay before requesting holiday. Would Axel even want to see him again? Was he even sad to see him leave? He was forever putting himself down. The barista was perfect, and to let something like that slip through his fingers, killed him. It made him want to run away, lock himself from the outside world, and just sit there, to be alone, until he was too weak to physically call for help. He didn’t want to leave Axel, he wanted this job, but other the last few weeks alone, he fell in love with a guy who he only started talking to because he went in for a vanilla flat white.
What if he never met Axel? He wouldn’t have had to deal with not only one, but two attacks from Vanitas, he wouldn’t have been raped on their outing out. He was more scarred from the last few days, than perhaps most experiences he’d had within his life. He’d completly gone soft for the male - figuartievly of course. He’d opened up to Axel, showed him a small insight to his past, and almost instantly did he drop that guard that he normally kept up. Their evenings together were more than amazing, often in the day would he gently brush the marks his lover left the night before. Smiling, feeling happy. Whether Axel had noticed it or not, the blond felt more inclined to make love to Axel on a daily basis. He wanted to feel loved, and he did, in those moments when Axel would whisper sweet words to him that, during the day, he simply blushed at; he felt wanted. He belonged with Axel, his heart was the barista’s, and he wanted to believe that Axel’s heart belonged to him, he couldn’t ever imagine him finding anyone better than the barista.
What if he were to return to visit, and Axel had someone else? Could he deal with that pain? What would a great job be, if he was lonely. What if he published one of his books and had a fan base? Would that make him happy? Not if Axel wasn’t in his life. Pure blue optics glanced up to the board which had the departure times and the current time. What was the point in waiting around? He might as well go and get on the plane which would be a lot more comforting than some bench. Picking up his bag, he slowly rose and glanced in the direction of the terminal. Swallowing thickly, the blond took slow, heavy steps towards the gate entrance. He could feel a pulse within his head, his body was shaking. This didn’t feel right, it all felt wrong, but he didn’t have the spare amount of money to rebook his flight, just to say goodbye to Axel. If the red head was to turn up, he’d have a good fifteen minutes before he had to leave, but it wasn’t like the barista was going to show anyway.
Ears perked as his name was called. Was that his name? It sounded like it. He paused in his footsteps to listen out for his name to be called again, assuming it was just a mistake, but to soon be greeted with a warm, taller figure wrapping their arms around his waist. He knew who it was instantly as he released the handle on his bag and suitcase. Tears pricked in his eyes, rosette lips parted to speak, to gasp, yet nothing, just a small noise of shock. The writer ever so slowly turned around to see his boyfriend, there, looking as gorgeous as he always did, but looking upset himself. A tear rolled down Roxas’ cheek as he gently placed his hand on Axel’s cheek. “I’m sorry, Axel.. for.. this—” By that he meant ever since Christmas day. Thankfully he would have the golden retriever puppy to live with him, to remind him of Axel, though he was being boarded seperately, and would be kept in the the new york station, kennel until Roxas arrived. He wondered if the little guy would be okay, but with his playful, friendly spirit he thought it ought to take a lot to effect him in any serious way. The way Axel spoke, desperate and urgent. He said those words again, but this time in such a way he’d never experienced, he just wanted to drag the red head to bed and lay there with him, sob into his arms and tell him how much he loved him. He truly loved Axel, without a doubt, and he knew he’d do anything for him. A few noticable tears stroked his cheeks, the blond sniffing a little as he now realised he was crying. “Axel, gods I fuckin’ love ya too, I don’t want us t’be over… I was just so… so scared… I’m scared Ax—” he said, staring deep into emeralds as tears continued to flood. Sobbing he wrapped his arms around Axel’s waist and burried his face in Axel’s shirt - not caring less for leaving it tear stained.
He swallowed back his sobs as the red head placed a chain around his neck, glancing down at it in awe. It was perfect. Axel always knew how to make Roxas smile, and even now he cracked the smallest of smiles for his partner. “Oh Ax, it’s perfect… I love it… I love you—” he said, naturally leaning up on his toes, heels off the floor as he would bring his lips to press to Axel’s. Albeit a little unstable, the blond managed to maintain a solid, heartfelt kiss. His lips moved slowly against Axel’s, trying to pour everything into that kiss. His lips would only move away as the red head discussed Skype. “I’ll be back to visit soon, or you can come visit me? Promise, I really want this to work Axel. Gods, I don’t know what I’ll do if ya find yerself another blond whilst I’m gone… I can only imagine how many cute blond’s walk into yer place at work—” he teased, laughing a little, nuzzling his face into Axel’s chest again.
Sighing softly, he heard the overhead voice alert the passengers that they soon needed to board. He grabbed the fabric of Axel’s shirt tighter, clinging to his love, not caring for anything else in the world other than the red head. “I don’t wanna leave ya, firefly—” he whispered, though sadly, leaning up to whisper direct into Axel’s ear before peppering his jaw line with soft kisses, not teasing, or wanting to cause something hot and heavy, just a show of adoration for the male. “I’ve gotta go now, Ax… but uh… here… It’s not exactly expensive but uh…” he opened his bag, kneeling down for a moment as he took out a script of some sort. “This was the book I started, the day I met you.. I typed it up again. It’s about this guy, who was depressed, suicidal, thought there was nothing else for him in the world, until he gets closer to this popular guy. He starts to think about things that he feels shouldn’t be right for a guy to feel about the same sex. I got stuck when it came to writing the in depth feels part, he was falling in love with the guy. I’d never been in love, so how could I relate on any level? The best I’d had until you was Vanitas. But… I wrote a bit more, and I finally finished it.. You inspired me, helped me to write the rest, Ax….” He said softly as he handed him the one script. “I’ve got the typed version, I can just print it out again. But, I wanted you to read something I finally finished, it’s the first project I’m gonna hand over to the head guy….” he said before sighing again.
“Ax, I really have to go—” he said, tears pricking in his eyes once again.
Roxas, Roxas, Roxas- was all Axel could think about as he ran through the crowed hallways of the airport. Heart racing as emeralds searched for the familiar spike of blond hair, Axel realised a sigh when he finally spotted and watched as the male paused in walking. With one last effort, the barista put everything into those final steps before reaching the blond, and finally wrapped his arms around the well known body in front of him.
Sighing into the blonds warm skin, he tried to regain control of his breathing and beating heart, watching as Roxas turned around to face him. Roxas really was here, the barista wasn't too late- and where those tears? Quickly the red head cupped Roxas face in both hands, staring into shimmering cerulean feeling his heart break at seeing the male cry.
Even if the reason was understandable, the sight was too unbearable. Feeling a hand on his check, emeralds never left the blonds face as Roxas spoke so brokenly while apologising. Why would Roxas apologise? If anything Axel blamed himself for leaving everything to the last moment and not saying anything sooner. Shaking his head, Axel sighed softly and closed his eyes briefly before staring into blue again, whispering comforting words back. "No Roxas. It's my fault, I shouldn't hav left things like this...." Rubbing the cheeks with both of his thumbs, he smiled a little and continued. "Please don't cry sunshine." Just standing there with Roxas in his arms made him feel as if their little paradise that they built was back, and nothing mattered in the world accept the blond.
Oh how he longed for everything to be how it was before, happy and carefree- whispering sweet nothings. There was still so much that Roxas didn't know about himself, and for the first time he wanted to share those dark things with someone. The apprehension was still there about revealing those things, but for some reason the red head felt like he would be accepted no matter what- Perhaps he would have to wait for the right time. Feeling a patch of his shirt become wet, he removed his hands from Roxas face to wrap one around the blonds waist- stroking the skin revealed there while the other around the males upper back, embracing him lovingly.
Listening to those words as Roxas started crying, Axel continued to stroke the blonds back soothingly feeling his chest tighten at the words. Pausing for a moment, his thoughts scrambled to try and figure out how to reply to something like that. Axel wanted to say that everything will be okay, but will it? How could he know that for sure? Perhaps trying to find his sentimental side just like Reno suggested might be the best, but the only question left was how to put it into words?
Sighing softly into blond spikes, Axel murmured soothingly trying to find the right words. "It's okay Roxas, I was too. I'm loosin' the best thing that ever fuckin' happened to me. But I'll still be 'ere when you come back...." Suddenly a thought occurred to him that might brighten the dull atmosphere- Instead of Roxas thinking this is the end, perhaps he could think of it this way. "I could always save up an' fly over ta visit ya- Te amo, y yo no estoy a punto a dejar ir."
Recuperating the hug back as Roxas buried his face in his chest, Axel sighed and ran a hand up and down the blonds back. Watching as the blonds sobs slowly died down once he placed the chain around his neck, Axel watched silently trying to gauge Roxas reaction- mentally praying that the male would like it. Cracking his own smiling at seeing Roxas face, Axel released the breath he didn't know he was holding and replied back tenderly. "Glad ya like it babe, an' I love you too." Smile growing as he watched Roxas leaning up on his toes, the barista met him half way and kissed the blond back filled with passion and love.
Gripping Roxas waist in his hands to help balance the male, the red head moved his own lips against the blonds feeling that familiar spark once more. Axel had to bite back a groan when Roxas pulled away to answer him, but nodded at the words and let a small smirk grace his features. "Yeah, I will one day. So do I sunshine, I don't want ta loose you..." Pausing he rolled his eyes with a smirk in place at those teasing words before continuing. "Babe, all the cute blonds in the world won't do fer me. There's only one cute blond for me- You're the one fer me."
Chuckling softly at the nuzzle, Axel looked up and away from his boyfriend at the overhead voice and sighed depressingly and glanced back down, feeling Roxas tightening the hold on his shirt. Clutching Roxas almost desperately, Axel half listened to Roxas as he tried to memorised his boyfriends warmth and feel before he left him for who knows how long. Murmuring back after a minute, he replied whispering back into Roxas ear. "Neither do I, sunshine." Shivering slightly at the kisses that were placed along his jaw line, Axel's hands roamed the blonds back silently cherishing his boyfriend before Roxas moved away to open his bag, Raising a brow at the words, emeralds watched as Roxas handed him a script.
The way the blond described what the piece was about almost sounded as if he had written about them- perhaps that's what Roxas was writing when he first met him? Staring at the script in his hands in awe, the red heads mind reeled. Roxas wanted him to read it first? Before it was published? Axel could remember when the blond didn't want him to even see what he was writing let alone read it- but to read something that Roxas had finished?
Starring in shock, the red head replied breathlessly. "R-Rox this...Are you sure?" Nodding slowly he pulled the blond back into his arms, embracing him tightly once more and whispered. "Thanks babe, an' I don't care if it's not expensive- your writtin' is amazing." Hearing those heartbreaking words again, Axel nodded into the blonds hair and slowly released his boyfriend peaking his lips quickly before backing away and watching sadly as Roxas turned to leave. "I'll be here, waitin' an' saving so I can visit ya."
