Annika Eriksson - Adventure Ahead

In October 2015 we made a film for Gymnasium about Annika Eriksson's new project 'Adventure Ahead'. For the project Annika has used various pieces of found footage from the Media Archive of Central England (MACE) to create a new film installation. We went along to The Old Liberal Club in Lincoln where the film is showing and interviewed Annika to find out more about the project.

Art and the City: Leeds College of Art

In the run up to the British Art Show 8 which opens in Leeds in October, we've made a series of films spotlighting different aspects of the visual art scene in the city. Our second film is about Leeds College of Art.

Leeds College of Art is one of the few remaining independent, specialist art colleges in the UK. We went along to the opening of their 2015 degree show and talked to staff and graduating students about the college and its cultural position within the city.

Art and the City: Invisible Flock

In the run up to the British Art Show 8 which opens in Leeds in October, we've made a series of films spotlighting different aspects of the visual art scene in the city. The first film is about interactive arts organisation Invisible Flock.

Invisible Flock formed in 2009 and consist of three lead artists: Ben Eaton, Victoria Pratt and Richard Warburton and Company Director Catherine Baxendale. They specialise in creating interactive artworks where audience participation forms an integral part of each project. In June 2015 we went along to their office at East Street Arts to find out more about what they do.

Ruth Ewan - The Difference

To mark the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta, Gymnasium commissioned artist Ruth Ewan to develop a new piece of work through a series of workshops with The Meadows Primary School in Lincoln.

In June 2015 Gymnasium asked Axisweb to attend the opening of 'The Difference' in Lincoln and film an interview with Ruth to find out more about the project.

'The Difference' runs 15 June - 5 September 2015 at Lincoln Central Library. An exhibition of related works and print editions is on display at Project Space Plus, University of Lincoln 15 June - 11 July 2015.

We are pleased to announce that Axisweb has secured funding from Leeds Inspired to create a film programme spotlighting the visual arts scene in Leeds in the run-up to the British Art Show in October 2015.

Axisweb films - John Plowman, A Life Drawing

In January 2015 we made a film for Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery about artist John Plowman.

Deborah Dean interviews John about his 30 year artistic career and his archive of drawings which he'll be displaying alongside drawings from the museum's archive for the exhibition 'John Plowman, A Life Drawing'.

The exhibition runs 31 January - 22 March at Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery.
