Well, finally got enough motivation to even post outside of my instagram account. My name is Axiang and i like to draw either sea animals or recently Logos, maybe i'm going to post some of my art (both new and old) and some stories or headcanons of my characters. And i'm also looking for moots to talk about my hyperfixations (especially logos (currently))

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it

but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.

Yesterday during physics course class i saw a compass that kinda looks like a mix of Austin and Regina so i decided to draw him, no name ideas yet.

Recently been back to my NOS Sub-Hyperfixation again so i decided to draw their very abstract and amazing news intro from 2005-2012 because why not? I really like this intro mostly because of the music (even though it lacks NOS Journaal's iconic gong), the visuals, and that i kinda reminds me of Asian Games 2018's logo especially on the "sunburst" parts of the intro. Oh and i finally had the motivation to make a NOS character more than a year after i got the idea, i decided to base him off the current logo's O instead because i can't really decide a design based on my actual favorite logo from NOS that is their 4th logo.

Just Tretya sleeping in one of the "DON'T FORGET TO TURN OFF THE TV" caption cards that was often used after closedown by ТВ СССР , more specifically the swirly one used from 1988-1993 which is my favorite. I actually had this drawing idea a few months ago albeit at first i plan to draw him with Ostankino and Nikolay until i looked at the caption card again and oh, it can only fit 1 logo so i decided to draw the tall star instead.

That was also one of my favorite idents and logos from BBC (even though younger me got creeped out by the logo a bit the first time i saw it) mostly because of the design (especially the wings) and i'm happy to find another fellow fan of the batwings

Cloud clocks

Decided to draw Granada and Ostankino together because one similarity the both of their TV Stations have is that they both have clocks with cloud backgrounds (Granada's B&W + last clock and Channel 1 Russia's 2000-2011 and 2011-present day clock is cloud themed) and also a bit of a realistic cloud practice too. Kind of hard to try and match the half of these two clocks together so i decided to draw Channel 1 russia's side in 4:3 ratio like their old clock (even though this side is based on their newer clock) even though that means that the seconds countdown in the top and bottom of the clock is covered. Idk though where to put the seconds clock hand so have a clock that only has the minute and hour hand 😅

I've been listening to Time machine a bit too much and suddenly thought of these two new fish characters, one based off the song and the other kind of based off the gd level using the music (and probably my first new fish characters in almost a year or so). The one based off the song (especially the violin like parts) is Elyssia the Australian lungfish meanwhile the one based off the gd level (and the second song a bit) was a spike fish (idk why but i love the gradient in the spikes so much), still no idea for the spike fish's name though. How did Elyssia meet the spike fish is because of her gettung sucked into a time whirpool of sorts by accident and she went to the future, where she met the spike fish and later became friends with him. These two buddies then went on more time machine hijinks to the past and the future and even met Elyssia's ancestors.

Kinda late due to my vacation this week but, i'm joining artfight for the first time this year. Continuing the chibi airplane drawings again, this time a British Airways BAC 1-11 series 500 that shares the same name as an ITV Regional company (actually that's one if the reasons i drew him other than that i wanted to try non Boeing or Airbus airplanes, my initial plan is to draw one of BA's A380s) due to British Airways' old habit of naming planes based off regions in Britain means that there is a chance one or two of the planes will share a name with an ITV Region. Other than his name, one thing that i found to be pretty unique about him is that he never changes his registration at all till he was retired even though he has changed airlines 3 times, which was rather rare for a plane that changes airlines i had to say.

Chibi airplanes compilation from last year

I might post all of these chibis too because why not?

They're all were mostly my favorite airlines (including 2 defunct ones, the defunct ones are always so interesting) and my favorite airplane from their fleet too, and around 5 of them that i have flown in once (Sriwijaya Air is my go to airline since 2012 even though there were a few times i flown in Garuda or Citilink instead). Most of them except for Clipper Mayflower were all still active and some of them were pretty old for airplane ages.

Decided to return to my series of chibi airplane drawings i've been doing since last year because lately i've been going into a bit of a plane mood (because of something i'll do at Saturday), this time i'll probably draw more retired or even scrapped airplanes because a lot of them are pretty interesting. This time it's the Concorde's turn, or more specifially F-BVFC, one of Air France's 7 Concordes before it was retired in 2003. I still have no nickname ideas for this Concorde but he has heterochromia like Nami (PK-NAQ) does
