His pace slowed, nostrils flaring as he followed it deeper into the forest until he stopped abruptly beside an old tree. He leaned toward the bark and inhaled deeply—immediately recognizing your scent but it was far stronger here than it should have been.

His ears flattened as realization dawned.

You had rubbed yourself against the tree, deliberately leaving your scent to mislead him. A low, irritated growl rumbled in his chest.

unfortunately, my boss told me that i will be on a business trip for the next two weeks as well, so i won’t have any time to reread/edit/or continue working on this fanfic. wish that weren’t the case, but ohh well…

congratulations! ٩(⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)و*̣̩⋆̩* yandere!colonel!caleb x adjutant!nonmc!reader won the poll. that is the story i'm going to focus on, so i can post it first. since i’m unfortunately on a business trip this week, i won’t be able to work on the story until friday. i’ve written over 15,000 words so far, but there’s still no end in sight. we will see if i post the whole thing this weekend or just another teaser—a longer one (๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑)
