Sincere Sibling Hug

☾  ᗯᕼᕮᑎ ᒪIᖴᕮ GIᐯᕮᔕ YOᑌ ᒪᕮᗰOᑎᔕ...  ☁

                                  “What the heck?                  Does the law enforcement around here have                         nothing better to do than insult kids?”

               That sparkle flashing in his eyes, only occurring                     when observing a particularly weird circumstance,                      usually only meant bad things for the object of his                       curiosity. At a stage like this, his filter firmly set                       itself off as the tween bounded up to the stranger.

                        “Hey, excuse me!” he called out,                     already extracting the journal from his vest pocket.

               Hazel eyes gazed up at the mechanical creature,                     alternating between book and owl. While it mostly                  contained strange anomalies, occasionally he’d skim                       past schematics for some such device or other;                  reading over the text obsessively generated an interest                                            in complex machinery.

                  “Your owl -- did you make it yourself? I didn’t even                 know the technology existed!” he exclaimed without prompting.                    “Do you mind if I ask a couple hundred questions about it?”

☾  ᗯᕼᕮᑎ ᒪIᖴᕮ GIᐯᕮᔕ YOᑌ ᒪᕮᗰOᑎᔕ...  ☁

               The child scrunched his nose, thumbing the                      brim of his signature cap down to conceal                                                   his eyes.

              “Not really? It’s hard trying to get over how she                         treated Mabel; I can forgive her mistakes,                       considering her parents and all the bullcrap                           she’s been through, but  getting over it                                 – enough to like her like that –                                           is a different story.”

☾ ᗯᕼᕮᑎ ᒪIᖴᕮ GIᐯᕮᔕ YOᑌ ᒪᕮᗰOᑎᔕ... ☁

                The faint scent of ash lodged itself in his throat                       as the younger Pines twin’s wide eyed gaze took                       in the day’s magical happening before him.

                What struck the boy as even stranger was what  ,                    he assumed to be the human master to the mystical                       beast -- at least, considering how he wasn’t the                       least bit put off by the huge reptile sunning beside                       him. Regardless of having an owner or not, there                       was no way on this green Earth that Dipper could                       allow this to go on unchecked.

                He swears to himself it’s to make certain the dragon                       would cause no harm to his town, but, secretly, Dipper                       desired satiation to his burning curiosity; after all, in                       all his time researching the Journal, not once had a                       dragon been listed!

                With a cautious approach, Dipper called to the human,                       “Excuse me, is, uh, that your pet... dragon?”

                                               “You mean it?                                              You're really coming home with me?”

                                  “ Y e s.

                                         D e f i n i t e l y.

                                                      A b s o l u t e l y.

                                                                           ...Awkward sibling hug? ”
